yeah, before I even made this thread I went to that thread and read from page 30 to like 50.. so much gold, and now I can see what kind of flame war I'm in for once I get caught up between the book readers and the tv watchers. Not looking forward to that xD

FYI - For whatever it's worth, I like what GRRM did with the Starks.. at least the ones that are no longer alive. The first 3 books / seasons were obviously about the fall of those "that hold true to old rules that will get you killed."

The Starks the last 3 seasons were all about "I'm not going to go behind anyone's back in order humiliate the king (beheaded), I am going to offer our prisoner which is your son, for my own daughter (beheaded), I am going to marry this girl because of love, and not because of what is proper of a King, and to marry for connections (dead)" .. the Starks were stuck living by rules, rules that should never be applied during a time of war, and it got all of them killed.

In a sense, GRRM has now killed off all 3 / 4 of the "traditional heroes" in this show.. the ones who follow their heart, the ones who follow the rules, those are the first to find they have been stabbed in the back in real life, I like it!

P.S: #teamDaenerys #teamSnow #teamTyrion

This contradicts itself i believe. Robb broke the rules and it got him killed

well there is the whole marrying for connections (something you HAD to do during the age of swords, or exactly what happened at the red wedding happened), but also him beheading the leader of 1/3 of his army because of "war crimes" even though it was an outrageously STUPID decision, got him killed.

One of the reasons I wasn't so upset about Robb's death - the dude would have lost to the nightwalkers, not to mention, he would have really badly failed against Daenerys anyways.

The thread that got me labeled a book-reader, and one that led to more than a few spoilers from me when I made the mistake of joxying my name and saw all the posts about me in the reader thread.

Looking back, I was pretty damn close to a lot of stuff leading up the RW. I could see what caused that fervor.

It's really died down since Chicken cleaned house with the worst offenders. I already wasn't posting in the Hodor thread, but now readers can get banned for doing so.
