It might be one of my all time favorite pilots. If you love sci-fi, it wasted no time and jumped right into the deep side of the pool. Characters, story, dialogue... This show seems to have it all. The best part is, I have five seasons to enjoy. Am I too excited or not excited enough?

Not nearly excited enough. It gets 10x better than the pilot. It really starts to come together towards the end of season one. And it is excellent all the way to the finale.

I am in the middle of a rewatch now. I never get tired of this show. The characters are marvelous, especially Walter of course, but all of them really.

One of my favorite shows. Walter is a great character.
The last season is a little weird ,but overall the show is great.

It really picks up steam after the monster of the week episodes transition to the over arching plot of the show

This is exciting to hear. I've never seen one second of fringe but I remember when it came out people comparing it to LOST, which I love. Might have to give this a shot! What is the basic, big picture plot of the show without spoilers?

I love LOST as well. I am not sure which I’d consider better, LOST or Fringe. Fringe does a better job with fewer characters than LOST, and certainly a better job of answering questions and giving a cohesive overall plot.

I can’t say much without massive spoilers. The initial plot is that there are weird things happening, x-files kind of cases, but they may be all connected. I would love to say more but shouldn’t.

Once it starts to get past the Monster of the Week stuff and gets more into its own mythology, it becomes an all-timer for me.

It’s a cool show. It gets a little crazy, but it’s a lot of fun. It’s like a more science based XFiles

Welcome to the club. It's an amazing show, enjoy the ride. Also, we did an official rewatch thread several years ago, so feel free to follow along if you're so inclined (just avoid the initial post as it has a synopsis from the final episodes). We had a good time with that thread. FYI, if you are interested in seeing the discussion as you watch along, the discussion on episode 1 starts on page 8 of the thread.

It's science fiction for sure, but has a lot of other aspects to it. It's heavy on relationships (father/son, romantic, parents/children, coworker/colleague, etc.). There are "monster of the week" type episodes initially, but then it really settles into itself and becomes great. There are overarching plots about time travel and controlling time and events, dimensions, etc. And even the monster of the week episodes come around full circle and connect well with the latter season(s). And it has one of the best finales ever.

I don't want to say much more for fear of spoilers, but it's seriously one of the best shows ever and is entertaining and good basically throughout the entire run. Great, great show and I'd recommend to anybody, but especially if you like sci-fi. We had a blast with the rewatch.

Maybe the best science fiction series in television history and one of the best all around. You’re going to love it. Thinking it’s time for a rewatch!

Just rewatched the entire series for the third time. Just an excellent show from start to finish. Pretty rare these days.

I also loved how the involved the MOTW to mirror in relation to the broader storyline. Really creative writing.
