The plot is very good, but it has a lot of very shoddy camera work. Also if you're catching up before the new season starts, go ahead and avoid the in-game threads (book reader thread especially). They're basically a giant circle jerk.

I was once like you. When I interned at Chrysler in Michigan I was roomed with a bunch of game of thrones geeks. They would beg me to watch it with them and the swore I would be hooked. I was like nah y'all can watch that harry potter dragon shite if yall want I'm going to Royal Oak and meet up with some people and get shite faced. Fast foward to one day me and my gf are bored at home flipping thru the on demand at game of thrones pops up needless to say from that point on I have been fiending for the new season to start.

I do a hybrid binge. I don't try to watch something good all at once but rather three or four episodes at a time. I like to savor it because I knew when I get to the end, that is it.

also, just remember one rule on the show. No character is safe. No one. This show is not wedded to keeping three or four key characters alive. Sometimes it IS safer to be the guy wearing a red shirt on Star Trek. This is one of those times.

Don't worry, you have plenty of time to watch the entire series and then read all of the current books before the next book comes out.

Why would you tell him this? Let him find out on his own. That's part of the awesomeness of the show. Having that mindset won't allow him to throw himself into the characters

I just binge watched the entire thing. Definitely worth it. It was good enough to get me to start reading the first book.

Is there a thread just for book discussion? I'm about 1/3rd of the way through the last book.

I'd finish the last book before entering the threads, but there is the monster ASOIAF Crackpot thread and each episode there's a reader's/ Maesters' thread where all topics are fair game.

Do not deem anyone your favorite.

That is all. Enjoy.
