Very creepy...

Felt like it drug a tiny bit at times, but it had some awesome scare moments.

I Was really worried with Wan not directing this (even though he is a producer) that it was gonna fall flat because he has put out so many good horror flicks lately.

This was an awesome concept for a film and it was really good. Even with the annoying douche sitting in front of me talking to the screen.

4/5 stars.

How did it compare to "The Conjuring"? That has been my favorite horror movie of the past 10 years.

It was like a mixture of Insidious/Conjuring.

In fact, the movie does reflect back to the Conjuring a few times.

I thought it was a little bit more scary than the conjuring.

However, I think the acting was better in the conjuring. Not saying that the acting is bad/terrible in this one, but the acting was just better in the former.

I don't get it. All this talk about The Conjuring being the scariest movie of the decade and shite. It was a well made movie with an interesting story. Nothing more. It was a horror movie made for people that don't watch horror movies. If The Conjuring is the scariest movie you've seen, then I'm going to assume you haven't watched many horror movies and that you don't like them. It's like someone saying they love roller coasters but they've never been on one that goes upside down.

so it wasn't laugh out loud funny in the theatres? Because that's how the previews made it look. Like a spoof movie.

How does the annabelle doll tie into The Conjuring's plot of the witch that cursed her property (other than it just being shown in the music box)? Or would that be too much of a spoiler?

Doesn't tie into the witch at all.

I meant like they refer back to parts of the conjuring "the movie"

Not the story within the movie.

Like they mention Ed and Lorraine or whatever their names were from the conjuring (husband and wife demonologists)

And I would like to temper expectations just a but. It's not the scariest movie ever made, but as I said it will make the hair on your neck stand up a few times and that was with some dude in front of me talking every time he got nervous.

Totally disagree. I try to see most horror movies. And everything has been trash lately. The Conjuring was not trash.

You may laugh. I don't know.

It's nothing like child's play if that's what anybody is expecting.

**Tiny tiny spoiler**

It's not like you see the doll running around all over the place or even move.

Basically, The Conjuring and Annabelle are just movie versions of stories/artifacts related back to the IRL versions of Ed and Lorraine. Annabelle was/is an actual raggedy anne doll that seemed to be involved in some creepy shite with its original owners, so they gave it to Ed and Lorrainde who put it in a big glass box in their Occult Museum "to keep it from moving around" and told the story of how it was controlled by a demon looking for a host to possess.

Also, Ed and Lorraine Warren were pretty much completely full of shite. But their bullshite stories do make for some good horror movie fodder.

I enjoyed it. If you like the Conjuring, you'll like this as well.

As said before, this had a few intense moments.

There are some good scares, some mediocre acting, and a complete WTF ending. The ending was seriously dumb. Overall though it probably exceeded my expectations but they were admittedly low.

I saw it tonite, thought it was pretty good. The doll was laughably ugly looking, to the point where it was ridiculous anyone would ever allow it into their home. I think a toned down doll might've had more of an affect.

I watched the Conjuring two weeks ago and had trouble remembering much from it today. It was pretty forgettable for me and I lost interest during it.

They are selling the shite out of this movie on TV the last week.

Reminds me of the ads for Blair Witch - you couldn't get away from that constant rotation.
