I had multiple people tell me I would hate the finale and to tell you the truth, I really liked it. I guess people that don't like it don't understand what the show is really about. It was a great ride and it will be an unforgettable series to me

Yep that's what a tell people.

I'll grant Freauxen for this, but he said if you more care about the characters and how it ends with them, then it's a wholly satisfying experience. If you just wanted answers though, then you might not have been as satisfied.

Granted, I think some of these clowns would have rather it been a Comic Con panel where the creators answer all the questions rather than have a satisfying conclusion of the characters, although I do have a big problem with Sayid's ending.

How? I mean it explained the important things and then clearly wrapped it up in the final scene about what happened. Yeah there were a few unanswered questions about the island but it was never about the island

Get it right bro!

If you care about the characters, you'll be satisfied. If you care about narrative and storytelling (which yes does involve a cogent plot with sufficient, not all, answers), then you will be dissatisfied.

It's character vs. narrative.

I do not specifically call out answers, because it isn't completely about the answers. It's both about the questions asked, the journey to answers, and the answers themselves. It ALL matters. And Lost failed on major plot points for all three.

Sorry, just went off the fly on how I thought you answered it.

Granted I am forgiving of flawed narratives that have good characters, which is why I didn't hate Suicide Squad but despised Batman V Superman entirely.

Just giving you a hard time, no worries.

The answers thing bugs me because people are right in one respect, Lost did give a lot of answers. It really did. Maybe they weren't all the ones we wanted, but at least for me, I don't need ALL of the answers, but I need the right answers, the ones that make the entire journey worth. Lost did not do that.

I also find many of plot points, the journey if you will, to be out of sync with characters. See Jack Hulk-smashing magic mirrors. Yeah that was dumb.

Anyways, I digress.

I still have not seen SS. You guys warned me away from that. Will watch on video though.

Likewise. LOST is definitely one of my top 5 favorite series of all time. The finale is the best of all time in my book. I love the music and ending of Six Feet Under but it doesn't even come close to LOST in terms of fulfillment. Vincent lying down with Jack at the end gets me every time.

I feel like there's a big difference in experience between binge watching LOST now and watching it when it originally aired.

Back then you had to wait a full year between seasons waiting for answers to all the loose ends and unresolved plot lines, some of which never came.

Also LOST was very much a "water cooler" show where every episode people discussed theories about what was happening and analyzed every little detail to find clues about what would happen next or what the endgame would be.

For a show that was supposed to be about how certain things happen for a reason and the interconnectedness of the world, it certainly felt at times towards the end that they were making stuff up as they went.

Ultimately I enjoyed it because of the characters and "the journey" but it was perhaps a bit more ambitious than it could ever deliver in terms of storytelling.

Now I didn't say it was good, but I did enjoy Deadshot, Harley Quinn, and Captain Boomerang. Take that as you will.

From what I've seen on this board people that binge watched it had a lot fewer problems than people that watched it live. I think the difference isn't that you're more insightful than they are, but you didn't over analyze the show with others for a week between each episode. You just sat back and enjoyed the ride, they had many more ideas on what questions needed to be answered and where they thought the show would/should go.

If it wasn't for GOT, Lost would still be the most expansive and well put together TV show ever aired. Lost isn't perfect, but no series has ever built a more intriguing world.

I actually disagree with this, at least when it comes to the finale. There's those who clearly didn't get it who think they died in the crash, and some that do get it, but find it less than satisfying. I'd say it's about a 1/3 of viewers, but they're a very vocal group.

And Cooter Davenport, stop being a bitch about it.

because it didnt't have spoilers from a comic or book, so there was something to talk about...with GOT and WD..."you're so dumb, theres no way that's happening...because it's not in the book! omgerd, what a dunce!"

From what I've gathered, Netflix binge watchers all love it and people that devoted 7 years to watching it were all frustrated by the end.
