Now that it's finished, Justified really feels like a show made for one-off television movies every couple of years (like Columbo used to do or Tom Selleck still does with his Jesse Stone stuff).

The Raylan character is just perfect, and you have easy access to Boyd to add a little color here and there whenever the story calls for it. Such a fun, lively collection of people populated that show.

Definitely the best example of Elmore Leonard come to the screen (even more so than Out of Sight in my mind).

funny. When tim olyphant found out that sam elliot was in the final season he said he was like "Oh shite, now hes going to find out ive just been copying his acting style".

i hope none of my acquaintances are justified fans or else they know ive just been trying to walk and talk like raylan givens for years.

Finished Deadwood right before starting Justified.

And both held Timothy Olyphant back to the point that it was frustrating.

But yeah, both were very good, uneven series. The Deadwood writers lost their minds in the last season.

Justified was rarely great but it did happen at times and it was never bad.

Would love to see another Elmore Leonard work as tv series.

Just discovered this the other day from a thread on this board, but Get Shorty is now a series on Epix.

Only had a chance to watch the pilot so far. Didn't feel like it had completely found its footing but willing to give it a few episodes because I love the original story so much, although Chili Palmer is not the main character. More of a reboot than a straight adaptation I guess.

Worth checking out for Leonard fans

Rarely great? How about the entirety of season two? I would put that season up against any show how there.

i wont comment on deadwood but tim helped produce Justified and it was partially his idea to take a backseat while being the shows headliner. he knew the importance of secondary characters in an unforgettable story and the likes of boyd, ava, art, winona, limehouse, duffy etc. backed him up.

I love the fact that every time someone finishes Justified they feel the need to start a thread about it.

Happens almost weekly. Hope it never stops.

Random aha moment: I've been watching Lost and was wondering why Daniel Faraday looked so familiar.

He was Dickie fn Bennett.

I'm not gay, but Timothy Olyphant in Justified made me sit back and really think about it.
