Are they getting nervous?

That would be 30th all time for openings.

If they only hit 100mil then the bean counters are going to be committing Seppuku.

only two movies opened at $100m last year and so far only two have done it this year.

The budget is estimated at $150-$180m.

They were always banking on this movie going into the black via international box office.

Also, a JP movie has never hit $100m at the domestic BO for its opening weekend.

There's only marginal excitement for it, and if it were good we would have started seeing early buzz a couple of weeks ago.

You think a 4th movie in a series that hasn't been in theaters for 14 years that is set to open at over $100m in its opening weekend is marginal excitement?

Only 30 movies have ever done it.

I'm betting it opens at $125 million at least.

Far from true. Far from true. I've seen it plenty of times where a movie that needed up being widely applauded by critics was embargoed up till a week before the movie launched. Hell, I think Mad Max was like that.

This movie just doesn't look very good and Pratt looks terrible in the previews. He is very wooden trying to be a serious actor. He should stick to comedies.

As long as it has above 45% on RT I'll check it out. Most movies around that number or higher are worth a watch.

But I do go to a shitload of movies

I'll go see it no matter what, but for all intents and purposes, Ime already prepared for being disappointed.

Dinosaurs and kids in the theater
There's a whole group of kids who never got to experience that in the theater

Not surprising, you have one of the biggest names in Hollywood plus a long awaited sequel of one the most well known franchise together. I'd be surprised if this doesn't hit the $1 Billion mark. China is rumored to be having a huge opening as well.

The only review right now would be Brad Bird's tweet saying he loved it
