I'm always shocked at the number of people who don't know that Voight is Jolie's father is why I pointed this out in the topic. They don't get along because of Jolie's liberal views and Voight is a very strong conservative republican.

Voight is a a 4 time Oscar Nominee & Oscar winner. A very solid actor.

What's your 3 favorite Jon Voight performances? mine...

1) Varsity Blues as Coach Bud Kilmer. He made that movie what it was.

2)Pearl Harbor as President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Outstanding performance and looked just like him.

3)Zoolander as Larry Zoolander. I thought he was perfect and brought a lot to the movie as Derek's father.

I recently saw him in Pride and Glory. Not a bad flick.

For a while he was in like every other movie. Busiest man in Hollywood.

Transformers was annoying....

I'm guessing it has more to do with her feeling abandoned as a child instead of the fact that he's a republican.

Cause her parents divorced when she was one and from what I hear, he wasn't all that involved in her childhood. Her mother raised her and her brother alone and she may have built up some resentment towards him. Of course it's pure speculation, but I think that's closer to the problem than their political differences.

Perhaps his greatest role was as Mr. Sir on Holes.
