God I hope this isn’t just 120 minutes of, “watch 2 people be like totally zany and wacky!!!”
Despite the common opinion that the Joker is just a chaotic, directionless character - entropy personified - he typically has some kind of criminal scheme going on to make a point. I hope that element is present here.

This on doesn't look as good as the first one, but I really loved the first one. I think this one will be solid enough. Will watch either way.

Don’t think so, the musical part might be restricted to dream scenes or fantasies by Arthur. Similar to how all the scenes in American History X set in the past were set in black and white.

It looks absolutely dumb and goes completely against what the first film was about. Phillips got way too cocky after the success of the first film and thought he could make the story bigger than what it should be.
Phillips and The Wasikowski brothers are perfect examples of how you can have the exact same cast, director, and production crew of the first film and that still won’t guarantee whether the sequel will be good.

Maybe it’s just me, but the flaw of this movie (and any spinoff type movie) is the absence of Batman. We’re going to be two Joker movies in without a Batman appearance?

Wrong take. When people ask for creativity they want to see the stories they know done right in film. Where's the Dick Grayson film? Hes way more interesting than the Joker.
John Stewart? Martian Manhunter would have made for a better off kilter film.
