Yeah, the love fest on here over it is sure to create a wonderful backlash.
It's a great flick. But it's not some unbelievable movie. I think people like it because it's slick without being overly artsy or cumbersome. The action is seamless. The acting is adequate. The story is actually far more nuanced than people think and the world building is nearly perfectly done--the directors don't waste time on trying to find its borders and trust the viewer to go along with it.
I saw it in Imax opening weekend and came on here raving about it. The few others who had seen it joined in on the praise, but for the most part, the movie went by relatively unnoticed. Now more people are seeing it and raving about it, which is great; i just hope the people who haven't seen it don't go in with unreal expectations as a result.

I rate it as a more stylish Taken. But these type movies bore me after a while anyway. I do see why people like it but the praise it gets is surprising.
