Jenny Curran...Forrest Gump's Obsession

I know there are frequent threads on the topic. But are we absolutely positive that Jenny contracted HIV after she and Forrest have relations?
When she comes home, she sleeps all day. She remains quiet while Forrest talks about all his life adventures. She's basically run down. He proposes to her, they do it, she takes off and he starts to run.
A couple years later she tells him he has a son and that she has an unknown disease. They live happily ever after...at least until she dies. But it seems her life was cleaned up after she left and had her baby.
Forrest and little Forrest must have some kind of immunity to not be infected.

Easily one of the biggest bitch in movie history.
I mean, once she catches the Aids she takes advantage of a mentally challenged rich man who she knew would take care of her. Seriously, what a bitch.
I wouldn't be shocked if Little Forest wasn't really his kid.

Maybe, but the movie did not reflect it. Her issues of promiscuity and drug abuse occur before she conceived little Forrest.

That's a good question. Everyone I talked to after the movie came out said she had AIDS because of her drug use and sleeping around but when Forrest is talking about her after she dies, he says she had "the cancer."
Could it have been lung cancer? Pancreatic?
I guess they just left it alone so movie watchers would make that determination on their own.
