MASSIVE news to end the week as Blumhouse has dropped the bombshell that Jamie Lee Curtis will return as iconic heroine Laurie Strode in David Gordon Green’s Halloween! With the news, an amazing photo teases the highly unexpected return.

The reveal was made on Twitter, where Blumhouse also confirmed that Universal Pictures will release the film, simply titled Halloween, on October 19, 2018.

“Same porch. Same clothes. Same issues. 40 years later. Headed back to Haddonfield one last time for Halloween,” Jamie Lee Curtis tweeted.

Gordon Green’s Halloween looks to continue the story from the first two (original) Halloween movies, presumably ignoring all the rest.

Set to begin shooting this Fall, the film was written by David Gordon Green and Danny McBride. Last we heard, John Carpenter may provide the score.

Didn't she die at the beginning of one of the movies? I think it was resurrection?

ETA: my question answered.

Kinda have to since she's dead if they don't.

I see they recast her blue jeans as well. Is she also going to wear her old nose?

Yeah that was announced a while back. Apparently he's a huge horror fan. I was skeptical about his involvement but John Carpenter said he really liked what they are planning on doing.

I hope they keep it as close to the original as possible. I don't mind if the director detours a little bit, as long as it isn't Rob Zombieish.

The original was great as it built up fear through the simplest of things: Michael lurking around the corner, appearing from a dark closet, the music - which was phenomenal, and so on.

Not sure if it will be a record or not if she is killed off, but she was killed off 2 times in the series.

At the start of 4 she was dead from a car crash, then she was back to life in H20 and dead again a movie later.

She's a lot like Kenny frim South Park. Kill her off then bring her back ignoring previous events.

I hated how they just killed off Laurie at the beginning of Halloween Resurrection

Michael Myers was killed in every movie except part 3. Maybe its just a family gene that death isn't permanent.

part 1 of his Halloween movie was good, but the sequel greatly contradicted everything regarding the original movie

She's yo-yoed back and forth from being a fitness freak to telling people they should just age and be happy with their old folks bodies.

But I tell ya', when True Lies is on and that scene is coming up... I wait for it.

It's just good in comparison to it's sequel which turns Michael Myers into the Undertaker and is an abomination all around.
