Is Ricky from Trailer Park Boys a closet book worm?

We all know Ricky the dumb one and Julian the smart one, right? BS. Julian is constantly fricking up, doing dumb things like putting all the money in the Delorean. Ricky thinks he's dumb but somehow his schemes seem to always work out better than Julian's, but....
the MAJOR piece of evidence, IMO, that Ricky is a closet book worm is that he constantly mispronounces multi-syllabic words. If he didn't read - he would have learned all his words from other people saying them, so would know how to pronounce them. On the other hand - his mispronounciations are perfectly consistent with him being a closet book worm surrounded by idiots - he sees all the words he can't pronounce in books, but doesn't learn how to pronounce them because he is surrounded by idiots who rarely use mulisyllabic words.

I can't remember.
Regardless, it probably takes him a year to read one book due to him trying to figure words out all the time.

I watch Jeopardy and sometimes you get a really nerdy guy who knows all the answers but his pronunciations are all screwed up. Same thing you're talking about, big bookworm and smart but never actually had an intelligent conversation. Kinda sad.

Ricky got his grade 10 man. He's done a lot more of that book-learning than most of the trailer park people

I kinda think he's illiterate and can barely read.
When they got the book on Horticulture because of bugs on the Pot Plants he couldn't read any of it.
I think he tries to use big words to sound smarter but he mangles them.
When he comes up with an idea Bubbles usually has to tweak it.

Julian is as dumb as Ricky and he has no real skill.
At least Ricky is a Weed Genius. Julian screws things up almost as much as Ricky.
If you separated the two and growing weed was legal, Ricky would be rich and living the good life and Julian would be broke, in jail or coming up with a scheme to steal canned goods from a local food drive.

Agreed. At least Ricky has an actual skill, something Julian lacks. But I think it's absurd to suggest the Ricky is anything higher than semi-literate. I think he'd have a better grasp of the English language if this was the case.

I agree. Ricky admitted that he isn't good with "people words." Plus, Ray said that there's "only one book that counts, and that's the Bible." I doubt Ray encouraged Ricky to read.

Julian's has a skill. It's charm. He IS an idiot, but gets away with stuff because people think he's the best thing ever.
