It's essentially a soap opera with quality writing and great acting.
I can't explain the enamor with it, but I absolutely am addicted to the show. Finished 1-5 in under 2 weeks with the GF on Netflix.
It's one of those shows that if you take a break, you have a hard time getting back up for, but then the second you are 15 minutes into your first episode back, you have a hard time going to bed.
