Is 13 Reasons a PC manifesto?

I still have several episodes left, but just seemed really forced with all the PC stuff:
- focus on bullying
- safe space signs everywhere
- the gay dads, and how Courtney was made fun of
- parents suing school for their daughter killing herself
- everyone being so emotional and no one standing up for what is right
- everyone is a victim
Any other's I missed? Thoughts?

Considering all of the crap that happens in that school, the safe space signs are pretty ironic.
I don't feel it pushed an agenda, but some might disagree. The amount of gay people in one concentrated suburban high school is pretty unbelievable IMO.

I mean everything you listed is relevant in today's society. Each of those things happens all the time. Not sure what's PC about it. I thought it was a great show, even if in the absence of an all straight white cast with no real problems to speak of.

All of those things happen IRL, no?

Not sure...I graduated highschool almost 15 years ago. I guess it is the world we live in today, but it just seemed like a big focus. Was it an agenda? I'm not sure to be honest.

At least 4, but I think they referenced more, then the dads. Maybe it's not a lot for a school with a few hundred students, just a high amount of the main ~25 students the show focused on.

Gay people exist in such numbers. Get over it.

its a teenage drama
its going to be over the top emotional and irrational and retarded for any adult male

There are like 10 kids with lines in the show and 4 of them are gay.

Not quite true. 4/25 is 16%, where most studies would show only about 2.5% of the population is LGBT.
The thing that bothered me the most was how much a of a wimp both Clay and Hannah are, and the parents suing the school. Could really care less about the gay thing but it just adds more fuel to the fire.

I found everyone but Jeff insufferable.

Isn't parents suing now just part of the process? I mean families of school shootings sue the school when there is nothing a school can do.

Can care less about if someone is gay or straight, it just seemed like a high percentage which would bolster the OP's premise that it was a PC show.
Without going into spoilers, I think they handled one of the gay storylines pretty perfectly.

Besides showing gay people just existing, the big LGBT thing they did was someone pretending to not be gay and screw someone else over for it. If you got gay agenda out of that, you are just scared that gays exist in the world.
They did push bullying in schools, but that's the entire premise of the show.
The parents were suing the schools because they were grieving and were reaching for fault. However, through this process they actually discovered the school did do wrong by the guidance counselor's frick up.

My first reply was that I don't think there was an agenda, but I could see how someone could think that, and gave an example. I think her story was actually a positive one, the only positive thing about her, by the end of the last episode, and could be a good thing for a kid struggling with their identity to see that it's not something to hide/be ashamed of.

It is a suburb of San Francisco.
