I really liked this movie. I have been recommending it to a lot of people and after they see it they all tell me they loved it. John Goodman needs more roles like this. The whole cast was good. What were ya'lls thoughts on this film? I can't believe it was a straight to DVD movie.

I want to see it.

I generally like TLJ.

And I love John Goodman.

The preview makes it seem a little typical/cliche. But I still plan on giving it a go.

Yeah, Goodman plays a notorious New Orleans mobster/film producer. The movie takes place in Louisiana and Mississippi. Tommy Lee Jones was great in it, and I don't even like TLJ that much.

TLJ: You knew she was arrested for prostitution?

Bartender: No i did not.

TLJ: So you hired her because you thought she was an honor student at LSU...

I gave it a C- overall but B+ for the entertainment factor with all the known LA sites prominently used.

Yeah I like the part when Tommy Lee Jones refers to the prostitute as an honor student from LSU in his sarcastic way.

Another Louisiana movie with bad southern accents. But it was entertaining.

Pretty much all James Lee Burke books are set in Louisiana. Its pretty cool to be reading one and actually be able to visualize where the character is because you've been to the same place.
He also had a book with the same character TLJ played, Dave R., called Heaven's Prisoners, set in New Orleans with a lot of filming on and around Lake Pontchartrain. It starred Alec Baldwin, Teri Hatcher, Eric Roberts and a few others.

The only real cajun accents was the guy who found the barrel with the women in it.

I'm a big TLJ fan and I thought it was terrible. Very disappointed
