What's the point? Anyone with a blu-ray player will have no use (or want) for a DVD, and anyone without a blu-ray player will have no use for a blu-ray. The only purpose of these combo packs is to make more money [Yes, I realize that answers my question.] More and more often, when a movie is first released, the combo pack is the only buying option available. Frustrating!

Well, when I want to share a movie with a friend that doesn't have a blu-Ray that DVD comes in handy.

That's all I use them for.

I like to rip the DVD to my hard drive and keep the Bluray to watch on the big tv.

I actually really like it because if I bring it over to a buddy's house or gift it to someone, I don't have to worry about them not having a Blu-Ray (which surprisingly still happens sometimes).

I like it for kids' movies in the car. Preserve the blu-ray at home and let the kids destroy the DVD.

Blu ray stays at my house and the DVD goes to Grandma's.

I'm always on the hosting end of movie get-togethers, so needing a DVD has never been a concern. And I didn't realize so many people still don't have Blu-Ray capability. Don't all the modern gaming systems have Blu-Ray capabilities?

Anyways, I can see some people find the combo packs useful. I just get tired of buying DVDs and Digital HDs that I never use.

As pointed out by many on here, the DVD is for the car.
