Don't do it man. I refuse to watch this movie. Join me.
Look, everyone needs to be punished for this movie. Sony needs to lose money (which they did) for making this movie. The actresses need to be punished for agreeing to do this movie. The director needs to be punished for directing this movie. The theaters need to be punished to be punished for screening this movie. And Redbox needs to suffer for providing a cheap means to watch this movie.
Even if you hate this movie, by watching it, you're supporting it. Don't give any of the above entities 1 dime of your hard earned money.

I watched the honest trailer. That was enough for me.

I walked out of TFA with a lot of positives, but even more negatives. I can't say I didn't enjoy seeing it. I did. It was a spectacle. But it's a retread of a fairly boring movie. Episode 4 got me interested about the characters. Episode 7 did not do as good a job. It felt a little jumbled and a little like they were trying to set up an entire film universe (which they were).
Whether you felt TFA was a love a letter or not, I don't disagree. I just don't think it's that great a movie. It did, however, get me excited to see what a real independently minded, daring filmmaker like Rian Johnson can do with the world.

They may have taken it a bit too safe I agree, but they knew not to frick with us after the disaster that were the prequels. It's here to remind the fans what they loved about Star Wars in the first place. There is nothing remotely malicious or condescending about the movie.
Can't say the same about Ghostbusters.

I watched it yesterday. I chuckled a couple of times.
It seemed like it was more of a kids movie than anything.
Not really worth the watch but not awful.

Don't give this movie any money, it doesn't deserve it.

Besides the casting controversy, it was just executed poorly.
McKinnon is the most gifted comedian of the four, and they did not utilize her nearly enough.
The movie lost nearly nine figures including marketing costs and had a domestic revenue to production budget less than 1.00.
Lesson: if you're going to pull these kinds of stunts, they need to be done very well. Ghostbusters wasn't anywhere near that standard.

I have a $1 off coupon they emailed me that expires at midnight and this is the dilemma I'm facing. Is it worth $.60 to see it?
