It was the definition of ok. Wasn't good, wasn't bad. Had some funny bits and had some characters I liked.

Some people seemed determined to hate this movie

I have no desire to see Ghostbusters so i can't speak on it, but this board did the exact same for Suicide Squad and Batman V Superman.

They hadn't been out 24 hours before they were deemed the worst two films in the history of cinema. You kind of just have to assume that 80% or so of the criticisms here are people just trying to be the 'guy' that hates the movie the most.

Both of those films could have been better, but if a movie isn't up for an Academy Award, it's shite here.

I think its the kind of movie that depends on your expectations. If you compare it to something good then it will seem terrible. After an Adam Sandler movie? It probably wouldn't bother you a bit.

Shouldn't every movie be compared to "something good"? Especially with a production cost of $150 Million?

It really pisses me off when people try to make apologies for this unbelievable piece of shite. We knew it would suck, you knew it would suck, even SJWs knew it would suck, and guess what, IT SUCKED.

No it's not. TFA was a love letter by the fans to the fans of the franchise. They gave us just about everything we asked for from the prequels and clearly listened to our complaints. Hopefully they mix this up a bit in Episode VIII.

Ghostbusters was an open "frick you" to the fans of the franchise. They just pretend the others never existed, rip off the plot of the first one, and make all men idiots. On top of that the villain is an over the top man child loser who lives in a basement doing janitorial work. I've never seen a movie with more contempt for it's supposed fans and audience than the Ghostbusters reboot.

I haven't seen SS yet, but BvS was pretty fricking bad. And I had no expectations for it going in.

I still haven't seen it yet. I'm debating on if it's even worth a Redbox rental.

I'm definitely not talking about Suicide Squad, because I literally could not care less about the product, anyone involved (which I can't tell you) or anything about it. Just not in my wheelhouse, I guess.

As for Ghostbusters, the stunt casting pretty much excluded my ever watching it, unless it killed it in reviews. It did not. Stupid stunt casting is still stupid stunt casting.

Ditto for Affleck as Batman - I was already on the bubble about Superman - I watched the first movie - I liked it - I didn't love it. With Affleck as Batman and pipe cleaner arms as WW, that pretty much did it for me. I don't begrudge folks out there who liked it, but I'm passing.

Life's too short to get too twisted up about most movies. I save my outrage for real travesties - like Star Trek from 2009 to present.

Maybe it's just me, but I never asked for a rehash of a New Hope. TFA has actually gotten worse for me on re watch.
