Yeah THO3 cause people refer to themselves as their own heros, and God is your friend and that friend is you all the time.... 
This is Movie/TV board. Understanding film is an art and when a guy like MM makes a speech that leaves the academy speechless that is worth understanding.
I will allow for your own views but I assure you that when someone says "You got a friend in God and that friend is you" is anything but straight foward. Believe me I have two earned masters and 4 years of PHD studies bra.

I love how you try to make yourself look smart by putting others down. Nice trait...
In an intellectual environment we generally like explore the intricacies of language. Deconstruction allows for deeper meaning. I hardly doubt anything any says in the public eye is straight forward. I doubt you had ever even heard the quoate utter by MM before the Oscars. I know I have not heard him explain his intended meaning but you seem quite sure to end the discussion and call anyone who questions the meaning dumb.

Dude it doesn't matter. He's not trying to make some statement. Go back and watch the SAG speech as well.
MM loves what he does, he loves life, and he is being truthful about his feelings on the matter. He isn't up there blabbering about some gd political agenda, some bullshite gratitude, or some fricking sob story. It was quite refreshing to hear someone speak from the heart while accepting an award. Hell I doubt he even wrote the damn thing beforehand. I think it was just what was running through his head in the moment.

I fricking love the hell out of MM. He came to Oxford when UT came to town like a boss. Dude is awesome. I am saying he is way the freak out there. He didn't use deodorant at one time and has smoke a ton dubbage. I like the way he carries himself and trip out on his interviews. That speech was epic and way more over the top than many here concede.

Yeah cause intellectuals have a habit of calling people dumb who attempt to extrapolate the intricacies of subject matter. I guess I will simply defer to your judgment about his level of culture and whatever that means to you.
