I just finished it.

I knew it just ended, but damn, right as she heads out on the road trip and fricks off college? Oh the possibilities.

Went to the shows WiKi page and holy shite how does a show nominated for 3 Emmy's get canceled? There's some serious accolades listed.

quote:

Freaks and Geeks has a devoted cult following. The series appeared on Time magazine's 2007 "100 Greatest Shows of All Time" list,[3] as well as placing 3rd on their list of the greatest television shows of the 2000s (decade).[4] In 2007, Freaks and Geeks ranked #21 on TV Guide's Top Cult Shows Ever.[5] In 2008, Entertainment Weekly ranked it the 13th-best series of the past 25 years.[6] The same year, AOL TV named it the Best School Show of All Time.[7]

And it was canceled midseason?! WHAT.THE.frick.

"It's not a Parisian. It's a jumpsuit. My grandfather in Florida wears them all the time because he's too lazy to put on pants."

I just watched the Busy Phillips episode of Mortified Sessions and it was pretty good.

Today, Freaks and Geeks would by far be the highest rated comedy on NBC.

I seriously doubt that claim. American tv viewers are not the most sophisticated animal on the plain. That's why shows like two and a half men Happy Endings and Mike and Molly survive while better shows go extinct.

The tv audience has not changed in ten years. They still gravitate to crap.

Agree with this.

Also, F&G isn't a comedy. It's more of a funny drama (dramedy or whatever). Don't get me wrong, that's one of the things that makes it so great, but I think it would still struggle to find an audience in television today...the general TV-viewing public doesn't want to have to think about their shows, and F&G is much, much deeper than simply a comedy or a drama.

I do think it would do better today than it did, but it would still struggle. I also think it'd do better on a station like USA or TNT than network TV.
