Lets say you have watches some of the Star Wars movies but not all of them.. If you were going to watch all of them consecutively, what order would you do it in

They were released in this order. Do you stay with this order?

Star Wars - New Hope
The Empire Strikes Back
Return of the Jedi
Phantom Menace (Ep. 1)
Attack of the Clones (Ep 2)
Revenge of the Sith (Ep 3)

The Machete Order:

Episode 4
Episode 5
Episode 2 (as flashback)
Episode 3 (as flashback)
Episode 6

This way you save yourself from the steaming pile of shite that was Episode 1 and the majority of JarJar Binks.

should just skip to the last 30 minutes. The rest is also a "steaming pile of shite."

Just watch the original, un-fricked-with trilogy, and skip the prequels altogether.

And also miss out on seeing Greedo prove that he's the most incompetent bounty hunter in the galaxy.

I actually did this in real life a few weeks ago with my two sons, 13 and 8. I have the original theatrical release versions...the really unedited versions that were put out on DVD along with the first edited versions that came back to the theaters prior to the prequels being done...

I had looked into the Machete order, and then I found what was dubbed an edited version of the three prequels on Youtube which was around 2 1/2 hours totals and did that instead. It's called The Phantom Edit.

So we went:

Star Wars
Empire
Phantom Edit : LINK
Jedi

Problem was, even the boys recognized that almost NONE of the stuff from the prequels mattered AT ALL when they got back to Jedi. It made Vader look weak, neither cared at all about Luke/Lea's mom or Palpatine or Corasant, etc, etc, etc... They were also distracted by the fact that the prequels were obviously shot in a different way so they looked completely different.

Literally the only thing they enjoyed was the final fight between Annakin and Ben, and even then they both thought Ben was both a dick and ultimately responsible for billions of lost lives because he allowed Annakin to lie there suffering instead of simply killing him like anyone would have done for a hurt animal. That scene actually made you feel bad for Annakin and think less of Ben, which then hurt the originals...

In the end, I'd still suggest forgetting the prequels entirely...they add nothing worthwhile to the story and complicate things which were completely fine without then.

ETA: Let me add, that I only even did this because both had heard about the prequels and had seen characters and things from them referenced in other shows (mostly animated) and they felt like they needed to see them in some form.

My son has never seen Episodes 1-3. I don't think he is old enough to be subjected to something that shitty. I will let him make his own decision to watch them when he gets older.

yea, I saw all the originals. I personally have not watched the Prequels. I may watch them but I will not make it a priority.

Thanks...
