Watched this last nite - Carrey has some epic lines and set pieces. I'm a huge fan of the original so I was leery at first... I find this remake to be acceptable.

Who else likes this flick?

I liked it WAY more than I planned to. Carrey was great as the Grinch and it was about as well-done as you can get making a live action version of a cartoon.

I remember seeing this in theaters, I loved it then and I love it now. I almost always watch it when I see it's on tv.

Its one I always watch around Christmas time. I remember showing it no my neice years ago and thought the Grinch might be too scary looking for her. Honestly, he creeped me out a bit the very first time I saw it
She thought it was awesome and watched it probly 10 times that week.

I still laugh everytime at part where he's talking to himself with the echo

"I'm an idiot!"
-...... "You're an idiot!"

This is my favorite Christmas movie...barely ahead of Home Alone: Lost in New York.

I watch it every single time it comes on ABC Family.

I didn't like it on initial release (except Max the dog -- dogs are always cute), but it has grown on me in recent years and I like it a lot more. I still think it provides needless backstory and kind of changes up a perfect story without real purpose (making Grinch's motivations being one of petty revenge for rejecting him from that Xmas' party).

But Carey really brings it. He makes the movie.

I think it's great. A perfect Carey vehicle.

I can't believe this film is 13 years old.

Insanity.

My favorite lines:

"Even if I wanted to go, my SHE-D-ULL wouldn't allow it!"

...

"4:00, wallow in self pity; 4:30, stare into the abyss; 5:00, solve world hunger, tell no one; 5:30, jazzercize; 6:30, dinner with me - I can't cancel that again; 7:00, wrestle with my self-loathing... I'm booked. Of course, if I bump the loathing to 9, I could still be done in time to lay in bed, stare at the ceiling and slip slowly into madness."

I also love the part where he pulls the tablecloth cleanly out from under the dishes... just to go back and mess it up later.

His Ron Howard impression is epic when he puts the Navy hat on

How they stretched out a 10 page book to over 2 hours, I'll never know. Very boring but visually appealing.

I would agree the movie is probably 15-20 minutes too long. Usually I'm looking forward to the conclusion way before it ends.

Still a good movie, and Carrey dominates. The Die Hard and the Chariots of Fire references are also hilarious.

There's also several really good Christmas songs on the soundtrack (The Eels, Barenaked Ladies, Ben Folds, etc.)

I did not like the Who's story at all but loved almost every second that the Grinch was on camera.

He made that movie
