Most women obsess over it, most guys only watch it because their women make them watch it.

I only watched because my wife did. Paget Brewster is pretty hot.

I wouldn't say I necessarily like the show, but I watch it whenever I go to sleep because it's something I can watch/fall asleep to on Netflix and if I miss 2-3 episodes it's not really going to matter.

Am I the only person who enjoys watching horrible shows? I smile the entire time Criminal Minds and Scorpion is on.

So many of these tech people in these TV shows are so off. Most of time all they do is press a few buttons to pull up anything. There are many times where they discover a new lead and the tech person will push one button as if they already had all the info pulled up. Their profiles on people are weird as well. Like some of the profiles will include when a certain person took dance lessons.

Every little detail helps!

I am triggered by the harsh criticism this show gets.

Anyone else find it weird when the black guys character and the weird tech girl are constantly calling each other baby. I think she's a lesbo in real life

What else would they replace it with? Another Cop/Medical/Lawyer drama? That seems to be the only new hour long shows every year.

Or how when they get to a locality you have the local sheriff/police captain who is either too close to the situation to be objective or is poorly trained and set in his ways.

Local cop that doesn't want their fancy fbi ways to get in his way and family who absolutely refuses to let their kid be interviewed by the fbi to find their other kid's killer are reoccurring characters. Can't you just leave us alone?! We've been through enough.

Don't forget they catch every serial killer just as they're about to kill another victim and have to talk him out of it /shoot him if the talk doesn't work. This is so spot on.

I do like it, though. Mainly for Special Agent Jennifer Jareau. But it's a dark network drama, and while most episodes are pretty formulaic, they occasionally have some interesting killers. And the episodes that Dr. Reed directs are noticeably darker. I like the profiling aspect--that has fascinated me since I read the book by the FBI guy that helped creat the BAU and profiling by interviewing serial killers in prison for years. Can't remember his name, but the book was called Mindhunters, I believe. I also think Gideon's character was somewhat based on him. And the guy Scott Glen played in Silence of the Lambs. The novel version, at least.

Yep.

Local cops are always imbeciles or bumpkins. Polar opposite of NYPD Blue (love that show) where the Feds are always idiots who bring in their moron profilers and bungle everything while giving zero information.

Second, serial killers are always the Ted Bundy type or are targeting suburban housewives. I don't think they EVER kill hookers or drug addicts which are the majority of IRL victims. If the real world had that many active serial killers who were killing soccer moms and coeds, the wold would explode.

Finally, who THE frick would stay in that job? Every damned character has been targeted. main characters wife is always either already dead or targeted. "unsub" ends up getting close to a team member or actively seeks them out? They are an elite FBI task force but are always found. ER did this too much as well. The characters and the ER had everything bad happen to that one county hospital location. I meet some shady fricks in my job at times. One follows me home and I am finding another job and making a "medication error" next time they are in my place.

Cliché murder scenarios
that's what is so disappointing...the show is about serial murderers and the profilers who catch them...they made THAT routine

the pilot showed promise, the rest of season 1 was a slow climb towards mediocrity ending with the finale which was ridiculous and then the only cast member worth a flying shite leaves the show...that's when it was cooked as far as quality is concerned.

They do point out that it's not sexual every time. Which is pretty much never the case in real life. The guy just wants to let a few young people live in his dungeon for a few days at a time as he tries to re-assemble his dead mother or duplicate his third grade crush.

the majority of killers are often retards even if organized like gary ridgeway or derrick todd lee

again, I want to point out how they took such a fascinating subject and instead of making something new made the same boring procedural every network has been doing since the early 90s

silk stalkings was better
