What a great piece of schlock this is. It's just terrible, but terrible in all the right ways. I laughed my arse off from beginning to end.

How did Roland Emmerich make it and Jan de Bont didn't? This is way better than any movie Emmerich has ever made (save for perhaps the Patriot), but Bont is the missing piece of the trifecta that includes Bay.

If you haven't seen it, I highly encourage all of you to watch this movie. It's not talked about nearly enough. Maybe OJ overshadowed it due to the fact that it was about a run on the LA Freeway and was released 2 days before he murdered his wife, but that makes it more astounding in my mind. If you like great shitty movies, please watch this. I give this my highest recommendation.

Pop quiz, hotshot. A jackass just posted something stupid on the M/TV Board. If you don't call him out, the board will explode. If you bring attention to him, the board will explode. What do you do?

What do you do?

29, so I should have seen it for sure. I thought I had seen every shitty 80s and 90s action movie. It was such a treat to be surprised that I haven't seen one of them. It's been probably been 7 or 8 years since I've seen a shitty 80s/90s action movie for the first time. It feels really good.

Literally one of the most iconic movies of the 90's. I don't know how you can be a regular poster and not have heard of this.

Ha, now I'm wracking my brain for other shitty movies you may have missed.

You serious? Keanu, Jeff Daniels, Dennis Hopper, with Sandra Bullock in her first big role (wearing Arizona Wildcat shirt, if I remember right)... that Speed?

How young are you? That was one of the bigger action films of the year when it came out.

This was the first R rated movie that I ever saw when I was like 7 years old.

It's just dumb, fun action. You shouldn't expect more than that, but it's good for what it is.

I do remember a South Park episode where they reference it, but I do feel embarrassed and glad at the same time to not have seen it. I enjoyed it immensely.

At the least this movie isn't talked about as much on this board nearly as much as it deserves. Definitely a classic in my mind and will watch it over and over again.

Is this thread serious?

I can understand someone never having seen it, but how can someone born before 1990 not have heard of it? It's a quintessential 90s action blockbuster, and it has a pretty big pop cultural relevance.
