Been randomly catching these lately on an obscure cable channel.
Just an easy, light hearted half hour comedic romp with a laugh track. Farcical plots. Good guy always wins.

Any other fans?

In college the show was on something like TNT from 1-2pm. Happened to be when I came home from lunch. I've watched every episode almost a dozen times. Never gets old to me. One of my all time favorite sitcoms.

One of my favorite shows of all time, and remember it during it's first run. I also loved F Troop. Corporal Agarn was a hoot!

Colonel Crittenden for the win.

All the primary German actors - Klink, Schultz, General Burkhalter - were Jewish. Werner Klemperer's condition to take the role of Klink was that the Germans could never win.
Also, LeBeau was a concentration camp survivor.
One of my favorites of all time. Have seen every episode many times over

Thanks for the link bnglcat. Probably should have occurred to me that HH was on YT, but I never thought to look.

Whoever downvoted my Colonel Crittenden post, I hope that you find peace in your tough, challenging life.

I've always thought that Helga was infinitely hotter than Hilda. Helga (Cynthia Lynn) and Bob Crane had an affair and her husband forced her to quit after one season. Their attempt at reconciliation was short lived however, and they divorced. That is why you'll see Lynn in bit parts in later episodes.

HH works b/c it successfully combines two forms: it operates as a Bilko/McHale-style service comedy, but can also be enjoyed as straight adventure, with bombing bridges, helping soldiers escape, etc.
My favorite episodes are where Hogan pulls some outrageous stunt on Klink: making him believe the war is over, or that Hitler is hiding out at Stalag 13 (and intends to name Klink as his successor!!).
Although MASH creator Larry Gelbart denied it, HH was clearly a major influence on that show: just compare Hogan wheeling and dealing in Klink's office with Hawkeye barging in on Henry Blake. Gene Reynolds produced both shows, while Laurence Marks wrote many scripts for both. Arthur Julian, a prolific HH writer, also wrote one of my favorite MASH scripts, "The Sniper".

Loved Hogan's Heroes reruns as a child in the late 70's/early 80's, still love them now as a old man. I'm actually watching it now.

Just a magical show.
I thought about it in the recent thread about reboots; but it's such a classic, and the dynamics would be so different now... like MASH, I just don't think they could do the original justice nowadays.
