The Great Escape
The Hunt for Red October
Once Upon a Time in the West

Seems like we are just naming cool titles to great movies and not really going for "the greatest".

The ones I chose accurately describe the movie, great movies, and yes...they're cool as shite

I think sometimes simpler is better but a great title gives you the jist of things

The empire strikes back...that's a great title, works as a serial adventure title, accurately describes what the movie is about.

Same for raiders

Jaws - couldn't find a shorter title that just gets right to the point.

Goodfellas - simple and sweet. Probably moreso than jaws. One word, kind of idiosyncratic when we think of terms for the mafia. But instantly you know what the movie is going to be about...the mafia

Citizen Kane - I can't even 100% describe why I like the title so much. It only makes sense after you've seen it. It's just a great title, and it's such a great movie

Great choices so far, some others I like:

Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia
The Night of the Hunter
Big Trouble in Little China
City Lights

Always thought Hitchcock titles were great:
North by Nortwest
Shadow of a Doubt
Strangers on a Train
Dial M for Murder

Honestly, the correct answer is.....

Scream

There's nothing more to the point than that. It's a great, poignant title conveys both the film genre, the intended outcome. Simple and Self-reflexive, just like the film.

Snakes on a Plane.

It's about snakes... on a plane.

The Bourne Identity- great spy title

Throne of Blood

Alien- short, sweet, and to the point.

Scream is a great title. I'm not sure if it's a great movie.
