Danny or Bran?

we can throw Stannis in if we want to assume he is alive

it seems very unlikely that Jon, Danny, Bran, etc all can fulfill their quest in the same world/landscape

Definitely Dany. I think she'll end up sacrificing herself towards the end of the battle against the White Walkers.

the fact that Danny's quest may be a failure just makes me dread ever attempting reading the later books and having to read her bullshite chapters

Why would we assume Stannis is alive? He's dead. Davos laughed hard at the people saying he was alive still.

Also look at the theories on the 3 headed dragon. All three have a role to play

Not dead until shown on screen.

Bran wargs the dragon while Danny rides it.

I think people are hoping he's not dead because nobody wants to believe D&D are stupid enough to not show his death on screen

He's alive in the books which is what OP mentioned. D&D completely botched his storyline. Yay for super villain Ramsay!!

I think Bran will reject his "quest" after he finds out that the TER and CotF are not his friends. They have absolutely no reason to want to help men, and really, the very idea that one's noble destiny is to get sucked into a tree just seems undesirable.

But the Reeds believed it was, so who knows? It's going to be tough for Hodor and Meera to get out of there, though, and I doubt they want to live there forever.

I think Jon and Dany make it to the end. If Jon gets resurrected, I doubt they'll kill him a second time. That's just stupid, and Dany brought the dragons into the world. It's kind of gross that they would hook up, but not really for that family.

So I think that will be GRRM's major literary achievement - making a huge audience of people cool with the idea of a dude marrying his aunt. People won't even think about it, I bet, kind of like the Hitchcock movie Vertigo, in which the bad guy gets away scot-free and the audience doesn't really notice.

Dany is definitely more likely, just based on her trajectory so far.
