House Thorne, Alliser included, were loyalist during the rebellion. That's why he was sent to the wall. In the book he was not at the Wall when Jon was assassinated.

He really shouldn't have been a part of the stabbing IMO. He was too obvious of a bad guy to be part of a "betrayal". And honestly they have seem to have set up a begrudging respect between him and Snow after Snow didn't use his power as Lord commander to send Throne away

Problem is after the Wilding attack last season, and Sam leaving, it left like 3 Nights Watch Characters that had ever even had lines before. So they needed him in there so people weren't like "WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE"

Man that whole poison thing is crazy. You'd think Dorne would have strict no-touching customs, given how rampant poisoning is.

That's more of an Oberyn and his bastard daughters thing, moreso than a Dorne thing

Though I do like the showing of breasts thing Oberyn's one bastard daughter does. She's much better at that than fighting. She should stick to what she's good at.

FIFY, it is only one daughter that has, to borrow a Les Miles term, a want for the use of poison(Tyene). Another is good with daggers(Nymeria), one with a spear(Obara), and one (Sarella)

Possible Spoiler Below:

Sarella is likely disguising herself as a man in the Citadel.

Not when you factor in the risk of death by poisoning.

Post on the asoiaf subreddit lists the recent casting calls for next season. Majority there think the casting descriptions read like it will focus on lords of the North.

They need to up their ginkgo biloba intake, because it sure is taking the North a while to remember.

We may also be getting a very important flashback scene from some of the descriptions.

Here is a list of the descriptions of the characters with some names (though those they specifically name seem to be new - maybe from the next book or else show only?)
