And do you know that not all releases have a singular world wide release date like domestic does? Which is why opening weekend numbers go by domestic opening numbers.

There it is... goalposts moved. Thanks. End of honest discussion with you. You are incapable of it on this subject.

If you believe this movie will hit 175m this weekend I have a bridge to sell you.. It’s made 44m so far worldwide

Then why did you use worldwide as a metric for measurement in your own post? Just asking as to better understand your entrenched position.

You already moved them 2 days ago and now you’re doing exactly what I predicted.

Because my initial point was that the movie wouldn’t make money. For it to do so it needs to hit about 300m so WW factors in. The two posters I’m arguing with have also pulled numbers, both real and imagined and just added them all together all weekend so I was also clarifying the actual take against their projections.

And my initial point was simply that the movie would do better on opening weekend than Godzilla Minus One did in total. Which it did. That's it. Then you... did you... I guess and started shifting and moving goalposts and what not... and it got... entertaining. Still is.

No, I didn’t say anything about GM1 except that its style and quality should be what the monsterverse leans into. I think GM1 was made on a 14m budget and made 110m which is great. My fear was this movie would bore fans, lose money and hurt the property. Very happy it appears I was wrong about that.

On that we agree. It was a better overall movie than Godzilla X Kong, but, in my opinion, Godzilla X Kong was more fun. If that makes sense.

Yea, makes sense, I just can’t get over Godzilla shrinking and all the silly colors. I think they missed out on opportunities to broaden the story and make it more engaging. Just feels like the universe is going in 5 different directions all the time. Like they’re always onto a different story and tone before they finish the one already in progress.
