Why on earth would they halo in with red flares? "Hey look at me!"

I guarantee one or more of them gets snatched out of mid air because of that stupid shite.

Red chemlight on chest, green chemlight on back. A lot less noticeable.

The original Godzilla was a bad guy. I hate how they sweetened him, gave him a smiley face and made him a child's superhero in the later movies. That's where the cheese factor became a real turnoff. The original was dark, menacing and a bit ruthless.

I didn't hate the 1998 Godzilla because I enjoyed the CGI rather than a dated rubber suit. I also appreciated that he was made more realistic with speed, elusiveness, and animal instincts rather than the 1960-1970's Godzilla who seemed to be based on an obese, lumbering, asthmatic uncle headed slowly for the refrigerator knocking shite over in his wake.

I doubt there are going to be any other monsters in this film. I suspect that they are going to try to make it as realistic as possible.

not sure about that, there was a leaked movie poster that had a creature on it other than Godzilla, also they are producing some toys to go with the new movie and there are some 8 legged figures being included in the toy set. It could possibly be a different creature to go in the movie, or it could be nothing at all.

I hated the 98 version and would've preferred the guy in the suit, based on that abomination of an interpretation of Godzilla.

ETA.... there seems to be another trailer with a little more footage in it LINK

I didn't love the look of the 98 Godzilla, but I did like the physical skills that allowed him to dodge and evade missles, 'copters, and detection in general. Just more realistic.

I hope there are some other creatures but I really hope it doesn't devolve into a 2 hour commercial for Hasbro action figures.

yeah, they may not be in it at all. Just going to have to wait it out. I have faith that Edwards will do it justice.

Good to see that they returned closer to the original appearance and nailed the roar.

Yep. Plated spikes on the back. I had this bad boy growing up. Probably still has water in it from all the tub fights against Jurassic Park T-Rex and the Ghostbusters.

The original Godzilla was grounded in Japanese fear of nuclear holocaust after Hiroshima and Nagasaki. That was why he was created to begin with. He was not bad or good-- just ambivalent to the welfare of the human race.

As he became mainstream is when all the happy-face shite started happening.

That is one of the better thought through trailers I have ever seen.

Too many fricking trailers are built around "Let's give a plot synopsis with a smattering of the better scenes of the movie."

Great touch of tension build up, with faint glimpses of the monster leading to the big shot at the end confirming it with the iconic roar going to the title screen.

You mean obviously inspired by the success of JP and essentially made a 30 story T-Rex?

Looks good enough to have many shitty, money-grab sequels.
