Good for him.
When he's writing on all cylinders, he's amazing.

First thing to do is fire Zach Snyder after Justice League is done.
Once DC gets rid of that one trick no talent hack, everything will be better.

Broken record.

No doubt...but he's not wrong.
I'm just failing to see, short of visuals (which at this point have become cliche for being his style) what makes Zach Snyder such a "visionary" director. At this point with DC properties, he's made THREE movies which have failed to live up to critical expectations...utilizing not only one of the most famous graphic novels of all time in Watchmen but the two most popular superheros in existence with MoS and then Batman in BvS.
At some point, is Snyder expected to hit a homerun with DC properties or are we, as fans of them, simply always going to be left with saying things like, "Well...it wasn't THAT bad" or, "But wait until we get the Director's Cut...then you'll see."
Or an even better question, don't these properties deserve better? Is he the ONLY option? Why are they so hellbent on allowing him to interpret their universe?

Geoff Johns is the best writer in the DC stable. His runs on Green Lantern and JLA are both legendary, and the gold standard for mainstream comic books. This is an excellent decision, and right up there with Marvel leaning heavily on Bendis for their MCU. It helps to have a company guy who is also a talented writer to help guide the transitions.
It's not secret I hate Snyder, but it would also be good to bring in multiple directors just t have multiple aesthetics, much like Marvel has done. Everyone is under the tent, but it's always good to have each director to put their own spin on thing. Which is why Wonder Woman is such a big deal. Patty Jenkins clearly has had influence on the look/tone of the film, if the trailers are in any way accurate.

Not sure how they could get more diverse...
Director of women based dramas
Director of dark, sci-fi based action films
Director of African American slice of life films
Director of horror films
Actor / Director of intense dramas

Every single sign since Batman V Superman points to their NOT being "hellbent on allowing him to interpret their universe."
Unless you believe that they're scamming us with the trailers for Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, and Justice League. Or you think they're lying about Geoff Johns dumping the Flash script and starting over, Affleck and Johns having full control over the Batman film, etc., etc.
It's not like DC/Warner went about business-as-usual after BvS. They demoted Snyder and began changing everything. If they showed up at Comic-Con with Snyder's severed head on a pike, people would still bitch that they let his head into the building.
It's like people that still want to boycott Chick-fil-A over their donating to anti-gay groups. Chick-fil-A stopped doing that four years ago. You won. You can have a chicken sandwich.

Yep. After Snyder does his limited role in making JL, he will kindly be walked out of the building. The only reason he wasn't replaced COMPLETELY for JL is because a lot goes into replacing a director. You can't just bring in someone off the street after costumes, sets, extremely expensive story board action sequences (which Snyder can nail in his sleep), etc have all been finished and say "go to work". I believe this will be an Affleck, Johns, and Snyder movie. Snyder is here in a much more limited role. People can relax and rest easy now.

Not only replacing a director, but replacing one for a movie that had multiple stars in place and was scheduled to start filming in a couple of weeks. You can't tell a dozen name actors that they have to push back all of their scheduled projects for the next two years because you're going to replace the director and go in an entirely different direction. (Not to mention the multiple movies that you have lined up with those same actors.)
You bring in handlers for the director, promote Geoff Johns so that he's over him and has creative control, and you begin to release early footage to critics and the audience to make sure that you're going in the right direction.
The critics and fans are on board so far? Let's keep going in that direction.

Pump the brakes. He is very good, but Scott Snyder and now Tom King are two that immediately pop into my head who are better than him. SS is quite possibly the best in the business.

You can see the current movie direction for Justice League and Wonder Woman as seen at San Diego Comic-Con as directly down to Geoff Johns, and his promotion from a mere CCO to P&CCO reflects this.
