Gene Wilder, who regularly stole the show in such comedic gems as “The Producers,” “Blazing Saddles,” “Young Frankenstein,” “Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” and “Stir Crazy,” died Monday at his home in Stamford, Conn. His nephew Jordan Walker-Pearlman said he died of complications from Alzheimer’s disease. He was 83.

One of the all time greats. He's been in so many classics. Stir Crazy is probably my all time favorite comedy.

This one hurts. One of my all-time favorites and was also my dad's. So many great lines!

He was hired for a non-comedic role in Bonnie and Clyde and turned his small part into one of the funniest scenes ever. "DON'T SELL THAT COW!"

Incredible talent - he and Gilda were a wonderful couple for however short a time they had together.

His chemistry with Richard Pryor, Madeline Khan and Mel Brooks was some of the best ever, particularly for a comic actor.

But, 83 isn't a bad run. RIP Willy Wonka.

He is literally the only actor my daughter knows. She noticed that Willy Wonka and Dr. Frankenstein were the same guy, and now she points it out every time. No, she hasn't seen Blazing Saddles. I'm not THAT bad of a parent.

So, at 4 years old, my daughter's favorite actor has died.

One of my favorite Gene Wilder movies is one of his most little known.
