i want Jon to kill the ones who betrayed him, take Davos as his right hand man, head south to save his sister and take back Winterfell. Defeat the boltons, have the northern house's call him a stark and name him king of the north. ride south and kill little finger and his army turn north to fight the white walkers. White walkers are too much And just when you think jons army is going to lose tyrion and kalessi ride in on fire breathing dragons and defeat the frozen zombies. Tyrion then settles the dispute of who will rule by suggesting Jon and Danny get married. Danny doesn't like the idea or westeros and decides she wants to go back to easteros? And rule everyone over there with out slaves, Jon is now king of the 7 kingdoms and Everyone lives happily ever after the end

He needs to bang the Red Woman too once he comes back. Now that his Night's Watch vows no longer apply.

Did anyone else laugh really hard when Myranda died?

Definitely remember that when it happened. Wish they just showed Reek throw her over and then just show her body on the ground after.

so in the books they just kill him for breaking his oath?

Ned beheaded a guy for breaking his oath. So yeah, it's kind of a big deal.

Worst scene in the show to date. Looked like some low budget sci-fi film.

Jon decides to leave the Watch to go fight Ramsay, thereby breaking his oath. That's why they kill him. On the show, he just makes a decision that the others don't agree with.

But now that Jon died, his watch has ended and relieved of those oats.

No I get that its a big deal. Just seems really out of character for Jon to just say "k bye. going to winterfell now." if this is what happened, I think the show really did it better and gave it a more believable and true to character motivation. Jon turning down the opportunity to go to Winterfell makes 100% sense, same as everyone turning on him for his wildlings ploy.

But in the first scenario, the brothers are justified in killing him. As it is on the show, they all deserve to be executed.

Who cares? A lot of them were in on it together. Nobody is coming to get them. Literally the only way this blows up in their face is if somebody happens to raise Jon Snow from the dead.

It doesn't make sense how quickly they conspired to kill him in the books. If someone else announces they're leaving, do they all run at him and stab him while saying "For the Watch" like they did with Jon? In the show, it was clear this had been planned in advance, which is to be expected for something drastic like this.

Not to mention, saying "For the Watch" makes little to no sense in the context of Jon Snow deserting. It makes far more sense in the context of keeping out the wildlings, which the brothers clearly consider to be a genuine concern, seeing as they begged Jon to reconsider.

Yes I'm sure they do kill people who announce they're leaving and make plans to do so, especially when they are lord commanders.

"For the watch" is a profession of the community desire to adhere to the oath and maintain thousands of years of discipline, with no exceptions. You can't kill a commander because you disagree with a decision. In the book, they are justified. On the show, they are not. It's not an opinion. It's pretty straightforward.

There's a theory floating around that Ramsey ordered Jon to be killed to prevent Sansa from running away to the Wall

Power corrupts brah. Even Jon Snow is vulnerable to pride. He got too hot for his britches and the story even tricked many readers into not seeing it. Whoever wrote the pink letter took advantage of it and it worked.

Unless there are clues to this in the books, I can't even fathom how this type of theory is concocted.

They killed him for letting the wildlings behind the wall...their sworn enemies at least until now. Which is kinda the point and what Jon learned at Hardhome. They will need everyone to stop the white walkers even the wildlings.

Someone IS coming to get them you see.
