Thoughts on when the S6 Trailer debuts?

Reddit says right after the Vinyl pilot episode airs on February 14th.

Since season 6 doesn't start until the end of April, I'm not expecting the trailer to debut until the end of February at the earliest.

Some insight into Sansa's role this year.

quote:

Heading into season 6, Sansa is one of the characters fans are most eager to see. “She’s definitely got a fan base now, and they’re rallying behind her,” Turner says. “Finally people see Sansa how I see her.”

And the timing couldn’t be better. Sansa has a major (and very mysterious) role this year. Having survived that leap from Winterfell’s castle wall in the season 5 finale, she has to try to escape Ramsay’s men and figure out how to reclaim her home. “Sophie really delivers this season,” says showrunner Dan Weiss. “She’s an extremely phenomenal actor, and this year she gets to go to places she’s never gone.”

Echoes writer-producer Bryan Cogman: “I’m very excited by where Sansa’s storyline is going this season, and I think Sophie is doing the best work she’s ever done in season 6.”

Adds Turner: “This is the season I’m most excited for. Sansa’s coming into her own and standing up for herself.”

So no more “Runnin’?” – except when the cameras are off.

Interesting.

Did you read the alleged leaked S6 plot lines online? I'm leaning towards it being a fake leak, but some of it sounds legit.

No, but Sophie Turner's interview was revealing, at least by deduction. She said she hopes that Sansa dies an epic death, and that Littlefinger seizes the Iron Throne. The interview was held after filming was completed, so that evidently means both of them live through S6.

Post the leaks. There are no rules in the spoiler party. Hell, I was going to post book spoilers as I read them, on release day.

Never mind. I looked it up, and did read those. Somewhere around here, there's a breakdown of why I think it's bogus. IIRC, a lot of it had to do with the "leaked" lines from the show, which were too corny and stupid to have been written by the GoT writers.

This video where davos just shreds the "Stannis is still alive" theory is pretty funny and would probably cause some melting

I actually toyed with the idea that Jon Snow might be Cersei's "black haired" child that she said died right after being born.

But what would be the motive for that? I still think Meera might be his twin, though.

There was a theory that Gendry was actually Cersei's legitimate child with Robert. But it was majorly crackpot.

What's the theory? That Cersei faked his death at berth?

i believe the theory is that the child was taken away from her and she was told it was dead

i dont really see what the point would be besides making a crazy new air to the iron throne for no other reason than shock value

Spoelstra ahoy. Gendry's mother is difficult to point out, and may very well end up being a nondescript character of no relevance whatsoever. So Gendry is pretty much just a plain bastard unlike most bastards we've met in the whole series. All we know of his mother is exactly what Gendry told Ned -- that her hair was blonde and that she worked in an alehouse and died when he was young. Oh, and she sang to him, too.

Assuming Gendry never actually remembered his mother or even seen her face, a crackpot theory would indicate the possibility of Cersei Lannister being a candidate. I don't know why the show added the angle of Robert and Cersei losing a child long ago, it wasn't in the books, so that's peculiar.

This was mentioned in a private conversation between the two in season one. There was also a scene there, I think, where Cersei tried to console Catelyn Stark, who was beside her son Bran after the tower accident, by telling her that she had a beautiful, dark-haired boy who died when he was little due to fever, and that she and Robert mourned for his loss. Even more peculiar.

Furthermore, the best argument against this theory is that one of Maggy's prophecies (this event took place in Lannisport when Cersei was but a wee bonnie lass) in A Feast For Crows says otherwise. Cersei:"Will the king and I have children?" Maggy:"Oh, aye. Six-and-ten for him, and three for you." Maggy:"Gold shall be their crowns and gold their shrouds," she said. "And when your tears have drowned you, the valonqar shall wrap his hands about your pale white throat and choke the life from you." So Robert has sixteen bastards, Cersei has three -- and we know Cersei does have three, and all of which are Jamie's; Joffrey, Myrcella, Tommen. This is a case of whether you'd rather believe the books or the show, because the show is giving funny hints that may not imply something but brings a whole, new, different perspective from the written paper. There are no introduced candidates other than Cersei that could potentially be Gendry's mother.

But wait! Here's a wildcard to throw to the heat: What if Gendry is Robert and Lyanna's son? I doubt Robert even had the chance, but still. So I suspect she is just another lowly commoner, or someone who has the potential to expand Gendry's plotline if his participation in the events ever goes beyond, which, to me, seemed rather conclusive. Or GRRM is trying to retcon it and make the show seem like there is a demented possibility that Cersei is indeed Gendry's mother.

Who do we think ends up on the iron throne? I don't think John wants it. If it came out Gendry is the true heir not "air" then he could pull a Ned and just give him the throne after Jon unites the North and fricks shite up. Something else happens with Dany. Maybe she goes back and rules all across the see.

Gendry would never be the legal heir. He'd have to be legitimized by the king and no king would cause that threat to his own rule. I think he hooks up with Arya. Their playful wrestling, etc. in the book makes that pretty obvious.

Jon Snow is the typical reluctant leader, which makes him the perfect choice. Him marrying Daenerys seems fine for the Targs, but to the audience, it's still kind of gross. Therefore, I'm not convinced that this will happen.

Howland Reed has yet to swoop in and make an appearance, and he's currently the only person alive who knows about Jon's parents, so I'm sure it will be huge when he finally arrives, that is, if he's not secretly the High Sparrow. If Meera really is Jon's twin sister, I could see her gaining the throne if Dany and Jon die.

Sansa's story in the books and show are very different, so I have no idea what will happen to her. In the books, she is supposed to be marrying the guy who will inherit the Vale if Sweetrobin dies, which he probably will, but she's shackled to Ramsay on the show. I have no idea what they intend to do with her, but Sophie Turner wants a good death scene, so maybe she doesn't make it.

If the show stretches out in an effort to see how long they can jerk us around (a la The X Files), I'll eventually start rooting for the White Walkers to kill everyone.

I tend to think the show will have 8 seasons total. So 2 more after this one to wrap it up. I'm thinking the White Walkers break through the Wall the last episode of S6.
