Well to be fair dragon skulls were around and proof that dragons had existed. There was no such proof of white walkers. Or even giants for that matter. At least that I'm aware of.
That is a very good point!!

It's like if a small dinosaur (obviously went extinct millions of years ago but we know they existed) were to be found alive but it wouldn't mean we now believe mermaids exist.
I have always hoped with every new discovery of dinosaur bones that they would turn out to be dragon bones. I don't think mermaid bones will ever be found.

How about the new gods? I haven't seen any sign of them but a bunch of people in westeros believe in them. On the other hand, we've have a bunch of people who saw the army of the dead/night king/white walkers.
I think using mermaids is a wrong object to prove your point. Aliens would've been more applicable.

Well religion is something else. If the army of the dead and WWs were part of the religion then maybe people would be more likely to believe but they're not. Before this very few people have probably even heard about the WWs.
The people who saw them are now mostly dead and the ones remaining are wildlings and a few Night's Watchmen. The North seems to believe Jon but the rest of Westeros doesn't know him, the NW, or the wildlings. So why would they believe them?

I'm partial to the theory that none of the gods in GOT exist and everything is purely due to magic use. People use it, see it, and misunderstand what is happening as the gods when it actually just magic in one form or another

Like OLMlanshark, I consider myself a shitty writer.
And I was just thinking, that Theon should actually be the Prince who was Promised.
The author and show runners are garbage.
Listen to my script!!!!

Y'all think Greyscale plays any part with the White Walkers? I'm watching at my parents house tonight and my dad just brought that up. I've read the series 3x and that's never crossed my mind.
I'll be checking out at 8 because we're ewting dinner and watching Twin Peaks first.

I honestly find the premise hilarious that we have real, live dragons in Westeros but people regularly scoff at the mention of white walkers/wights. Even after they've seen/dealt with the dragons and even more "magical" shite (see: Dany, Ceresi, even Tyrion to a degree, the Maesters, etc.).
At the very least, the Maesters at the Citadel should have investigated. Mormont and hopefully Aemon were trying to raise the alarm. You'd think the citadel would have someone they could have sent to investigate these reports long before now. Kind of like the Rob Lowe character in that show about the apocalypse.

I think Greyscale is more an Essos sickness. I would think if anything it had a connection with Valyria.
