They were also surrounded.

I hope Jon rides south. Don't want him just hanging out at the wall. You would think he would definitely do so if he learns that Sansa is in Winterfell.

No clue how the hell Jamie and Bronn plan to pull this off when clearly Jamie is pretty useless. On the other hand, looks like Oberyn's daughters are pretty badass themselves.

I liked this episode even though it was pretty short. Credits started rolling at about the 48 minute mark on my DVR.

I think Jamie just realized he can use his fake hand to his benefit. When he caught that blade I think he realized it will greatly benefit him. I'm still waiting for Sansa to see Theon.

Poor Selmy...always felt bad for the guy.

Cersei is sending Meryn to get killed by Arya.

I feel like with the amount of times they have mentioned Stannis leaving before the snow comes that his army is going to get fricked up by some bad weather.

I liked this episode, even though it was super short. It felt like they only focused on a fwe storylines, and were able to hash things out a little more than normal.

Yeah, I love Barristan Selmy, but his touching scene with Dany coupled with him running toward the fighting, sword drawn, you knew it meant bad news for him. I am hopeful that he and Grey Worm survive, but it isn't looking good at this point.

As for Dany, I don't know why she doesn't just let the people have their fighting pits...it doesn't make much sense for her to deny them, and it seems like every single day, she loses more and more power and people are tired of her shite. And now she has a HUGE problem with all this Sons of the harpy stuff...those dudes are taking out Unsullied with relative ease. That can't be good for business.

Yeah, his screen time would vastly improve if he left the Wall, but I just don't know if he will. Maybe Red Titty Witch can convince him...good to see she's still fine as ever (despite her apparent plastic surgery to her face it seems like). I wonder how long he can decline her, especially now that she is using his "make me fall in love with you" line on him.

Also glad to see my girl Shireen...I love her. And even though he's still basically a robot, it was good to see a human side of Stannis the Mannis.

As for Sansa, I was glad to see her storyline get better, and now it's getting even more interesting by the episode. I love Littlefinger's moves that he is making. He has the Vale, which is in the middle part of Westeros. And he knows that a) Sansa is in Winterfell hellbent on revenge against the Boltons, and b) Stannis is also headed to Winterfell as well. So he knows that he can marry Sansa in the future and basically control the northern half of the entire continent. He's making big moves, and I like that.

Yeah, I was hoping that Jaime would be a complete badass with one hand, but it doesn't seem like that's gonna be the case. Hopefully he can learn to use his hand to his advantage and become a good fighter again. Glad to see Bronn back though...he's a great character, and definitely a badass.

I didn't like the scene with Oberyn's daughters and Ellaria though. I don't know if it was because they were all bad actresses or what, but it just felt sort of silly/stupid to me. Why would Ellaria Sand want to start a war? Like Prince Doran said, Oberyn wasn't "murdered," he was killed in trial by combat, and she saw what happened with her own eyes... So what good would starting a war do for her or for Dorne?

As for K'sL, it was cool to see Tommen realize how little power he has since he isn't feared by anybody really. Even though Joffrey was a putrid little shite, he wasn't afraid to merk people for fun, and so he at least was somewhat feared by the masses (despite getting shite thrown at him a time or two ). Tommen gets nothing, and doesn't have the balls to make people respect him yet. And the power struggle between Cersei and Margaery is pretty funny to watch.

And Tyrion figuring out who Jorah is without him saying a word was pretty funny/awesome. That dude is straight up entertaining every single second he's on screen.

Yeah, on HBOgo, t he episode was like 57 minutes. There was a minute or so of previews for other shows, then a few minutes of "previously on GoT" plus the credits, and then a minute of end credits, and then like 3 or 4 minutes of special features at the end of the episode. I figured there was only about 48 or so minutes of actual show. Sucks.

Yeah, I don't expect things to end well for Stannis - the Wildings aren't supporting him, and the Boltons seem to be along for long haul.

Plus we are starting to see this "new soft" side of Stannis (scene with Shireen), which leads up to believe that he is on his way to his own demise.

I believe Bronn hinted twice that Cersie wants Jamie dead. The whole "Why are you hear?" conversation on the boat and the second was when they were eating the snakes by the fire. Why she would want that, I have no idea.

Glad we at least got to see that he's still a badass even as an old man

And as much as I dislike Dany, this sons of the harpy story line is at least somewhat interesting.

I just think at some point he is going to realize that Davos was right. And coupled with Sansa being at WF he will say frick it and ride south with the night's watch.

And I love me some red witch

That scene was awesome and made me like Stannis even more

Revenge. Plain and simple. She's clearly off her rocker

I didn't even get previews as it didn't start recording until the opening credits were rolling for whatever reason.

I really liked the backstory they added about Rheagar, both from Barriston and Littlefinger. And I liked LF's implied skepticism about Rheagar forcing himself on Lyanna

I felt like he was more hinting at the fact that he wanted Jaime to admit that he was there for his daughter instead of his "niece." He kept asking him "But why you?" and I think that just meant that there had to be a reason that Jaime himself was on this mission instead of someone more capable/less noticeable.

I'm not saying you're wrong about cersei wanting Jaime dead, but a) it wouldn't make any sense like you said, and b) she still loves him despite her best efforts not to. Not to mention that he's the father of her kids. But then again, she's an insane bitch, so who the hell knows.

Yeah this is what I got out of that segment as well. Not so much as the Cersai wanting him dead.

She blames him for the death of her father, and possibly destroying everything the family has and what they have

I don't think she's actively trying to kill Jamie, but I think she's thought about it.

It is. And that's good because we know she's gonna be fricking stuck in Mereen for a while, so at least we have something going on and actually developing instead of her just bitching about power every other episode.

Not to mention that based on the preview (and the poster for the entire season) it looks like Drogon is about to start making some meaningful appearances. I am really hoping that Dany gains some sort of control over the dragons again and reigns down on Mereen, and that's how she gets her power/respect back...that would be awesome and I'd actually respect her again.

I hope so. Plus, that would maybe mean we get to see more Davos, and I love me some fricking Davos Seaworth.

Do we know what Jon's opinion of Theon Greyjoy is..?? Based on ravens and wahtnot, you'd have to assume that he knows that Theon "killed" Bran and Rickon, but have we seen that he does actually know that? Either way, whether he likes Theon or wants to kill him, if he finds out that Sansa AND Theon are both in Winterfell, it may be too much for him to ignore and stay at Castle Black. That's what I'm hoping for..

It is. And I absolutely can't stand Peter Baelish, but I have to respect the game that he is palying. He's been playing the long con for a while now, and it could eventually pay off HUGE for him.

On top of all of this, I am all for storylines combining. Not only does it make things more interesting, but it also allows the characters/storylines to get more screen time since they don't have to jump back and forth between so many. If Jon Snow could head to Winterfell, we'd basically have him, Sansa, and Theon in the same place, which would be three fairly main storylines from the last couple season combining into the same place/one.

I want to say he was told by the old commander he was a steward to (forgetting his name). So if that's right, yeah he would want Theon's head for sure

He is supposed to be dead soon bc he was named on Stannis "Leach Pit Ceremony" along with Robb and Joffrey... the Greyjoys have been a fringe house on the show tho for the most part tho.

spears in hallways isn't the best fighting method

Exactly. They are a military outfit. Formation fighters. Those spears suck in tight quarters and don't help against multiple adversaries (you can't really slash with them). But why didn't they get in some sort of phalanx formation? They had shields, right? Dany has thousands of unsullied at her disposal. Shouldn't be too hard to wipe out the harpies.

The story building with Oberyn's women sucks, unless they will spend a lot of time naked. I never like watching women fight men, except Brianne, who is big enough to legitimately handle them. As noted, Oberyn willingly fought the mountain. Frickin' women.

John's reaction to signing the letter to Roose Bolton gave me a little hope.
