Saw it on AMC the other night. It was actually pretty good. Kind of like a submarine movie in that it was about this tank crew moving into Germany and fighting at the end of the war.

Anyone see it? I thought it was enjoyable.

It was the prequel to Crimson Tide, right?

It's basically Hunt For Red October

I was talking about with the small crew and being inside the tank. Those parts made me think of how the crew becomes bonded when they are in something like that together and they learn to rely on each other.

Or, a bomber movie. Whatever.

Obviously the parts where they are outside aren't like that.

Geez.

What are you talking about? The tank flooded when Pitt opened the hatch after Fury dived.

yes, it's a movie similar to a submarine movie ... tight crew that spends a lot of time together ... i saw it for the first time about a month ago ... would not call it great, but it is a solid movie ... there are a few battle scenes with the tanks that bring to light the tactics and dangers of fighting in a tank ...

I liked it a lot. Good story, good acting by the main crew.

Yeah in a submarine or tank you hope you bite it on the initial hit... if not your are drowning(submarine) or burning alive(tank).

Other than that I don't know what the hell you are talking about.

You mean like where a Tiger tank comes charging out of cover and gives up one of its main advantages, the awesome killing power of the 88 at range, in order to close the distance with a more maneuverable Sherman on open ground?

I've defended it. Sherman crews deserved a movie about their horrific conditions and Fury did that -- with a big asterisk for the long middle and ridiculous end.

I liked it enough to watch a bit of the AMC run yesterday, and it was edited to death. So if you liked that then watch the uncut version.

The scene with all the Shermans taking on the single Tiger I U-Boat was intense. Solid film

That Tiger is the only running Tiger in the world. It's housed at the Bovington Tank Museum. Tiger 131 was captured by the British in North Africa. Beautiful machine

Brad Pitt is clearly a Neymar fan.

I thought it was excellent. Loved the battle stuff and the scene in town where young guy gets pussy and breakfast.

Yep. Standard armored doctrine in the Wehrmacht instructed tank commanders to come to a stop before firing on the enemy, and then continuing to maneuver if necessary. That Tiger would have stayed right where it was letting the Sherman rounds bounce off of it's frontal armor as it picked them off one by one. There was no need to close distance with the Shermans given the range of the 88, the frontal armor of the Tiger, and by doing so you expose your vulnerable sides & rear to the enemy which is how it eventually gets knocked out.
