Stylistically it has some things that I liked. I was not a fan though. I was never able to believe what was going on.

I can see how people would really enjoy it, but imo, it's not in the same level as Patton, Apocalypse Now, Thin Red Line, etc

Lol, you have the right movie. I think they're supposed to be tracer rounds. They definitely used them in WW2, but not for every shot.

It does look pretty ridiculous lol

David Ayer had such potential after End of Watch and Fury. Pity it's all been wasted.

ETA: Look out for the tank snobs in this thread!

Everytime I see this movie's title, I think of this:

It's in the upper echelon of war movies

It was dreadful.

Look, it was supposed to be the very end of the war. The German Army was surrendering by the thousands and tens of thousands. We had total air superiority – hundreds of fighter-bombers on call. The Pitt character states his goal like any good protagonist – get his guys home alive. Then he proceeds to do the exact opposite and ensure all their deaths for a meaningless road junction deep in Germany. And one broken tank was not going to be a problem for any experienced German infantry, especially at night. The whole thing was ridiculous.

And what about this? The Pitt character kills a German POW in cold blood. Later he tells the Lebeof character, “Oh I am Christian too. You just didn’t notice for 3 years."

Ad no way in Hell would that Tiger move towards the Shermans. Contrived, stupid.

It was a ridiculous hodge podge of a mess, almost as bad as Wonder Woman.

Horrible movie. So overwrought. It deserves more to be in a category next to We Were Soldiers and Windtalkers instead of Platoon, Full Metal Jacket, and Patton.

The plot, the character motivations, the contrivances to get to the final shoot-em-out with the SS - all very poor.

Seems like a ot of people are happy if a movie has really cool action sequences and special effects. That is just not enough to recommend a movie.
