Most cast members I've heard in interviews will say Phil Hartman.

I think Will Ferrell killed me more than anyone else. But there were some real geniuses on that show for a while.

We have John Lovitz to thank for Phil Hartman. On the nerdist podcast he said he had to talk Phil into auditioning because he was happy being the best guy in their improv group.

Bill Murray was funnier than both IMO and obvoiusly
more talented.

Chris Fairley and Will Ferrell are probably the 2 funniest all time IMO

Phil Hartman for me. Lovitz is my under- rated cast member. Garret Morris was the least funny ( good straight man though) and most over rated has too many to narrow down .
