you can go back to cheers, frasier dad was dead and his mom was a rich socialite who hated diane. also, frasiers dad played a jingle guy on cheers

They clear most of that up in the episodes where Sam and Woody visit.

Frasier was much more manly at the end of Cheers. Why did he become so effeminate?

Frasier Crane is probably my favorite comedy television character of all time - only really threatened by Bill McNeal and Dr. Johnny Fever, and I agree with your assessment. It is as if he regressed to a level closer to the original Fraiser Crane (which was less likeable, in my opinion.) I still thought the show was awesome and smart, with some of the very best acting you'll find in a comedy, but I liked the Frasier of Cheers more than I did of Frasier.

This may age me, but it is one of the greatest 6 minutes in sitcom history:

I like the fact that the Frasier character won emmys on 3 different shows.

This might be glaringly obvious but what is the 3rd?

Btw I watch Frasier every night before bed, and I'm actually the only person my age that I know that has ever watched more than an episode or 2. The past few nights they've been showing the very end of the series and had the finale last night. I don't care what show it is..series finales always get to me.

It was on an episode of Wings.

Grammer received award recognitions for portraying this character in three different NBC shows, including a 1992 one-time appearance in Wings.

But he didn't win the Emmy, just a nomination.

As Roger said, "pure genius". I think I've seen every episode at least twice. Didn't care for Daphne's brother or mother, but everything else was golden.
