Just saw it and I thought it was pretty great. I don't think the comedy is consistently funny but there are some great one liners.

Old Lady: this (restroom) is for women
Swan: (unzips fly) so is this, I just need to run a little water through it every once in awhile.

Really 9'toole is just magnificent here. Absolutely as charming as you could imagine.

Watched Top Secret on one of the movie channels last night. The girlfriend never saw it, such a great spoof movie that gets lost between Airplane and Hot Shots.

"I'm not an actor, I'm a movie star!"

You can just tell O'Toole had a ball with the role.

Thought about "Just One of the Guys" the other day. Figured out that in the Progressive commercial with the guy at the pump that Dale' s "motorcycling friend" is Buddy from that movie.

I wouldn't call it forgotten, but Police Academy is on NetFlix so I watched for the first time in decades and was surprised at how well it holds up. I think younger people who've never seen it before would like it even without the nostalgia factor.

The Whoopi Boys. My brother met Paul Rodriguez at a uso show and said he loved it. Rodriguez said "you actually saw that?"

Monster Squad is the greatest 80s movie, and could be the best movie of all time.

My Favorite Year is pretty good. Haven't seen it in years, but really liked it.

That whole scene where O'Toole's "Alan Swann" character goes to eat with the kid who's watching him is great. The line about the meatloaf was hilarious.

Alan Swann: Rookie, your Meatloaf Mindanao was superb!

Rookie Carroca: Thanks. That takes two days to prepare, you know.

Alan Swann: Really! Tell me, what was that rather pungent taste?

Rookie Carroca: Parrot!

[someone spits up and Aunt Sadie swoons; the parrot cage is empty]

Rookie Carroca: And they're not easy to work with. They put up some squawk.

Alan Swann: I can imagine!
