Please tell me they didn't pussify Everlong by doing it acoustic.

No, they didn't. It starts around the 93rd minute.

My problem with the Foo Fighters is just not enough good songs. They tantalize you with some sheer brilliance on The Color and the Shape (Hey Johnny Park - man that shite is good). But the whole catalogue is just kind of loud and bland, IMO. I like them and they are better than most. And they seem fun to hang around with (didn't realize Pat Smear was in the band, saw him on SNL last week).

Does the drummer do all of the studio drumming, or does Grohl still do some?

Yeah, I couldn't believe he said they didn't have enough good songs either.

They don't. To be great, you have to have 50 or 60 great songs with their longevity. They don't. They're above average, with flashes of greatness, but sorry, just not great.

I think I disagree with about 90 percent of the things you say on here. Whatever though. That's your opinion.

I want to be very clear about the fact that I've gotten a huge amount of positive value out of listening to them. But when I compare Everlong/Johnny Park/My Hero with Learning to Fly...eh, it just is a letdown for me.
It's weird, for some reason, a lot of their chord progressions go to very strange places that don't really fit, IMO.

He was in the band at the beginning and still collaborates with them from time to time.

Looks great for his age. I think he's over 50 now.

You mean back in the band, right? He was with them for the first two albums.
