That trailer looks fantastic..just wow. I know nothing of the Old Logan, just what I've read online but it sounds interesting.

Sorry if it's been covered, but have we figured out if the bad guys are Donald Pierce and the Reavers? They were some badass cyborgs who nearly killed Wolverine in the comics.

Guess I could have done a little research. background

quote:

Most recently the Reavers have been seen once again working under Lady Deathstrike in the pages of — wouldn’t you know it — Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino‘s Old Man Logan, a series of stories about an older version of Wolverine that serves as partial inspiration for the movie Logan.

I just remember them from the 90's run.

Watching the trailer again, the final scene, with the girl walking up to Logan while she's wearing sunglasses, and the scene croping what many people said was a walking cane..

Looks more like a shovel to me, and with ProfX's voice during that moment, I'm thinking he dies and they just buried him.

I'm really digging the direction they decided to go with the tone and character-based emphasis. I wouldn't try that with many superhero/action type characters, but it seems like Hugh Jackman has been such a great fit for Wolverine that he has, in his own way, brought a side to the character that now allows this movie to work the way they are doing it.

I think this will be a great one. If only the similar feel to the video game The Last of Us, which is so amazing.

Can't wait either. I hope it will explain what happened to all the other mutants from the previous films. For example, Magneto is such a staple in the franchise, where is he?

I think the previously quoted article indicated that they aren't worrying about every other prominent mutant and are just going to focus on a single character driven storyline. I've had my fill of Magneto.

I wouldn't mind not seeing any mutants aside from Logan, Xavier, the girl, Caliban and whatever mutants are in the reavers.

Let's deconstruct the superhero movie and say farewell to the best fricking mutant there ever was.

I noticed an interesting difference between the international and US versions of the trailer. There's a name on a tombstone in the international version that has been removed in the US version. I wonder what it means. It's a spoiler I imagine.

I saw a video earlier that said it's "Peters." Not sure what that means in this universe. They were speculating it could just be a nod to Evan Peters.

That's an amazing trailer. So is there a timeline explanation somewhere? I guess he's losing his powers because of what happens to him in Wolverine? Didn't he lose his adamantium claws?

As much as people have bitched about how different the movie Wolverine is from the comic books, I can't think of Wolverine as anyone else now. 16 years Jackman has nailed and IMO redefined the role.

Take my money now, this has so, so much potential if done right, this could be Dark Knight level "actual great movie, not just comic book or action movie good"
