Ok maybe I'm just high here, but didn't Jean kill Xavier in X-men 3?

This is supposed to be before or after that?

I saw DOFP once and was disappointed. I think I've seen X3 all the way through once or twice. Fill me in lol

DOFP reset the timeline. X-3 never happened.

In the end credits scene after X3, Xavier's consciousness appears to pop-up in a brain dead patient's body.

In the end credits scene of The Wolverine, he appears as himself (reconstituted somehow after "saving" his being in that host body presumably).

In DOFP the timeline is reset and X3 never happens.

Goddamn, Fox sucks at a lot of things but they know how to make a trailer. I've got goosebumps from that.

I was thinking it was a pretty cool trailer. Then he jammed his claws through that dude's head.

Shut up and take my money

I've really enjoyed all the X-men films, aside from X3. I've said many times that I prefer them over most Marvel flms.

It's exciting to finally be getting an R rated Wolverine film.

“Obviously I have a connection and a fondness for Johnny Cash, and his tone and his message and his music. But the real driver in all these decisions is trying to separate ourselves, in an accurate way, from the other superhero movies. We think we’re going to deliver something a little different and we want to make sure we’re selling audiences on the difference. Sometimes even when a movie’s a little different, the studio’s trying to market the movie just like all the others. [Cash’s] music, in a way, separates us from the standard, bombastic, brooding orchestral, swish-bang, doors opening and slamming, explosions kind of methodology of some of these movies.”

“Hugh and I have been talking about what we would do since we were working on the last one, and for both of us it was this requirement that, to be even interested in doing it, we had to free ourselves from some assumptions that had existed in the past, and be able to change the tone a bit. Not merely to change for change’s sake, but also to make something that’s speaking to the culture now, that’s not just the same style — how many times can they save the world in one way or another? How can we construct a story that’s built more on character and character issues, in a way as if it almost wasn’t a superhero movie, yet it features their powers and struggles and themes?”

He's going to be the Sean Connery of the franchise, times five.

According to the synopsis, Charles is in the early stages of Alzheimer's in this film.

I imagine that Alzheimer's affects him in a far worse way than it would affect a normal human.

I'm a good test case for the comic book movies. I am not a comic book guy and don't rush out to see comic book movies.

Having said that, this trailer looks amazing.

Everything about it looks amazing and a much needed tone change.

I think Deadpool challenged film makers for these movies to break the mold and not stagnate like the Avengers movies.

This looks like it could be pretty incredible.
