While the prequels as movies kinda suck, I did enjoy the information they provided. I wish they could be redone but that would possible suck also.
I'm an excited about the new movies coming out, and love the idea of the stand alone movies, only hope we get a Darth Vader movie.

The last scene with him in the hallway I Rogue One was better than the entire prequel trilogy.

I want a movie you just that.

Vader silently slaughtering people and Jedi for about an hour and a half with badass phrases peppered in.

I thought it was 1, 2, 4, 5, 3, 6?

Regardless, you can remove Episode I from either method because it had no reason to exist.

What if they did a prequel movie of Vader hunting down and killing the Jedi between III and IV.

Imagine this scene:

Vader arrives on a planet at dawn with badass theme music playing in the background.

He walks down the slow ramp deflecting and stopping blaster fire then silently slaughtering all the henchmen of the Jedi.

You see a shot of a hiding and terrified Jedi apprentice.

Pan back to Vader, standing with the sun rising at his back, takes a slow electronic breath, "I can feel your fear, young Jedi."

Pan back to the Jedi as her eyes widen with fear.

He slowly holds his hand out and yanks her from her hiding place and force chokes her to death. Then he ascends back into his ship and takes off.

Better.

Should we start a thread to write the script and send it?

It was also better than anything in episode 4.

No. It's Rogue One, 4, 5, 1, 2, 3, 6, 7.

Silliness.

You can have a problem with episode one all you want but it still showed where Darth Vader spent his childhood and his attachment to his mother which would drive his further angst and rage that drove him on a path to becoming Darth Vader, where the Jedi found Anakin, the origins of Palpatine plotting to take over the republic.

It's part of the story of Darth Vader and the Galactic Empire as a whole.

Dont forget Darth Maul, Obi-Wan's relationship with QuiGonn, and his beginning with Anakin.

That as well.

Darth Maul and Qui-Gonn are explored quite a bit a in the Clone Wars and Rebels animated series and they're so fantastically well done. Maul wrecked shite in the later seasons of Clone Wars.

I'm waiting until the Rebels series is done so I can binge watch it all in two or three sittings like I did with Clone Wars which frankly felt like a never-ending adventure for me in far away lands across the cosmos.

You can pretend all you want, it's still canon and the origin story for the Skywalker family, Obi-Wan's relationship with Anakin, the beginning of the journey to Darth Vader, and the dawn of the Galactic Empire.

Just because the movie was poorly executed does not take away from the basic elements of the plot and overall storyline of the Star Wars Universe.

I think what made Star Wars so fun for me was watching it for the first time as a kid

Unfortunately I was a jaded sci-fi reading teenager when Star Wars premiered and it didn't make my head explode. My follow up viewing was actually at a drive-in theater with John Williams crackling out of a tiny speaker as we watched from the hood of my parents' station wagon.

Star Wars is Han, Luke, Obi-Wan, Leia, Chewy, Lando, Yoda, C-3PO, R2-D2...and Boba Fett, Jabba, Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine.

Everyone else doesn't exist.

I usually only see one or two movies each year in theaters. This would be pencilled in for sure.
