As long as she doesn't show her face.

So, this is how Marvel is doing Planet Hulk?
I feel like this has been known for at least a year.
That aside, I feel like the Thor and Hulk subtle humor of the previous Avengers movies will be well served by this director. He was apparently inspired by 48 Hrs and Plains, Trains, and Automobiles. Sounds like after the Planet Hulk stuff it's more of a road trip movie (probably getting Odin and getting back to Asgard).

Looks terrible. What's the point of changing Thor's look? Why would he change now?

I'm sure it gets cut at some point before being thrown in the gladiator pit. Most likely not his decision.
I personally think this is going to be fantastic and a great change of pace for the Thor and the Asgardians. They had to blend the cosmic realm with the Earth realm and it just makes sense to do it this way. I'm pumped for this year's slate of MCU flicks.

SPOILERS!!!!
How are they going to work the post scene from Doctor Strange into this movie? That showed Thor in New York and hinted that Strange would make a cameo in this movie.

Not sure how much Dr. Strange will be in the movie but I can't imagine it will be very long. Most likely just enough to establish a relationship between the characters. The Odinsons will be on the search for Odin which leads them to Earth but my guess is that Dr. Strange helps them find some information leading them elsewhere and they wind up on Sakaar somehow. Thor gets caught and enslaved as a gladiator, Loki somehow talks his way out of that and makes company with the Grandmaster or Hela. That's just my guess.

good look for her
I love Cate. I was super excited when I heard she would be playing Hela. I'm not a fan of Jeff Goldblum though.

I just hope they don't try to cram a hundred things into a movie that likely will be 2 or 2 and a half hours long. There is already hints of multiple storylines for this movie. They don't need to go BvS on us and try to make it grander than it is by shoving too much into it.

Yeah, that's what it sounds like if all the rumors in this thread are true (and I'm assuming not all of them are). But, if they really are going to try to tie the whole Marvel universe in with the cosmic stuff and Guardians of the Galaxy, I guess they have to speed it up. They don't have time for 10 more years of set-up movies with the current cast, and they can't count on comic movies staying hot for that long if they don't speed it up.

I wonder if Asgard has no go zones like Malmo.

The more info that comes out about this movie, the worse it sounds. I understand the Thor movies are supposed to be more light-hearted and fun, but the details of this movie sound bleh.

You guys are bitching about still photos that have zero post production processing done.

Incorrect.
I read the synopsis that just came out. I don't base opinions on still images that don't include context.

When we last saw Thor, he was flying off to figure out who was manipulating the Avengers at the end of Age of Ultron. Eventually, he hears rumblings of trouble in Asgard: His evil brother, Loki (Tom Hiddleston), has been impersonating their missing father, Odin (Anthony Hopkins). Loki's rather lax governing leads to the reemergence of an imprisoned Hela (Cate Blanchett). Thor’'s initial encounter with Hela gets him blasted to Sakaar, a barbaric planet ruled by the charming but nefarious Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum). Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), a tough, hard-drinking warrior hiding out on Sakaar brings the god to the Grandmaster... Thor is then forced into becoming a gladiator, which leads to his haircut and the loss of his trusty hammer...
Chris Hemsworth said... Thor is a bit of a fanboy for the Valkyrie, the elite women warriors...
Mark Ruffalo said... [Hulk's] much more of a character than the green rage machine you’'ve seen in the Avengers movies…... He's got a swagger. He's like a god.
Once Thor and Hulk unite, Ragnarok becomes a sort of road-trip film, with director Taika Waititi drawing inspiration from movies like 48 HRS., Withnail and I, and even Planes, Trains and Automobiles.
The director particularly wanted to show off Hemsworth’'s comedic abilities, only recently exploited in films like Vacation and Ghostbusters. "He's so good and underutilized in that department,” Waititi says. “He's legitimately one of the funniest things in this film.”
