"Look everybody. It's a giant gorilla. Let's all fly straight toward it and continue flying around it, well within its reach, even after it swats several helicopters out of the sky. And we won't stop until he's destroyed every one of them."

And then some other stupid shite happens. Samuel L. has some kind of weird black man ego vendetta against the giant monkey. 2 legged lizards kill stuff.

Just awful. Absolutely awful.

I take it you've never seen any iteration of King Kong ever. It was a fun movie and you sound like a debbie downer.

Fell asleep watching it. Didn't give a shite about any of the characters.

I enjoyed it. There was well executed humor, monsters and explosions. Looking forward to their expanding this universe with Godzilla and other monsters.

I still can't believe Universal Studios spent all that money building a ride for this movie. No one will remember this generic remake in a few years.

My boys and I were entertained. That's what I bought the tickets for. I'm not writing a thesis on it. Therefore, success was achieved.

Watched it on the airplane. Was kind of slow and the characters could have been better utilized outside of 1945 crazy guy.

???? I just watched it expecting average or worse from reading here. First, every scene was set with amazing detail. The first "part" taking place in the States was phenomenally detailed to the era, more peripherals to look at than any 60's period type pic I can think of. The story was straight forward and steadily paced. The second "part"...the air arrival and the stay on the island was every bit as detailed in framing of each scene. Considering the genre, this film was as visually excellent as any major release I've scene...and that's pretty much all of them.

I didn't expect a profound or intellectually enlightening plot from a movie about a giant-monkey-movie-icon that's already been subject of over a dozen films since the 1930's. It also appeared there was no expense spared in state-of-the-art FX production ca. 2017...no lame, obscured, blurry, or quick views of monsters to hide the fact the FX suck(could name dozens in past year alone). Lots of varied story content that avoids lack of continuity that plagues the lame 90% of sci-fi movies as a whole...literally packed with varieties of epic, picturesque, fantasy settings, each equally as varied with types of encounters, and even so... all outcomes are well resolved. Decent and solid performances from characters, vivid, bigger-than-life action / eye candy at every turn, ...and did I mention LOTS of it!!.... plus sound FX and surround mix on my 7.1 home theater was superb!!! I mean WTF?? What more could anyone want from a sci-fi-adventure type movie???
