I was a little late to the party as well. Me and my roommate decided to start watching it during finals week. 8 straight hours later, I didn't regret my decision

Halloween is too far away.

Stranger Things did an absolutely phenomenal job of paying homage to old school horror and suspense movies.

It was easily the best noncomedy series I've seen in a long time and one of my all time favorites.

And it has me way too excited for "It". Stranger things proved you can make psychological horror/suspense with mostly kid actors work.

Me and my wife did the same thing. Sat down to watch one episode, binged the entire thing in a night.

Me and the old lady started it, watched two one night, two the next night, then the last 4.

Just an awesome show. Winona Ryder was great. The kid actors were very good, not your normal kid actors.

I have a theory that probably falls apart upon deeper scrutiny, but on the surface it seems to explain how I feel about kids on screen.

When I think of child characters or stories about child characters - whether a series or a movie etc. - the ones that I enjoy or can at least tolerate seem to have the same thing in common: they're set 30-40 years in the past from the time the writer(s) wrote the stories.

So my theory is that adults aren't really capable of writing watchable or believable children. Adults can write their own childhoods and childhood friends, and it's watchable because it's real and resonates with common experiences of the age group of the writer(s).

The girl that plays 11 has a ton of charisma and seems to be on her way to a big acting career in my humble opinion.

The actress definitely seems to have a brighter future than any of the other kids. My wife and I ended up agreeing that she's going to be "the next Natalie Portman".

Winona Ryder seems to do crazy eyes so well and so naturally, that I wonder if she's just being Winona Ryder. Seems like she could easily pass for the sister of Patricia Heaton's character on The Middle.

My wife and I started it lastnight too, excellent show. The music, graphics, and especially the intro remind me so much of my childhood. We only watched two episodes, but we are look forward to see how it goes!

My wife and I just finished it. We're not the 80's kids that this series targets, so there weren't any nostalgic heart pulls for us. More like, "Well, that's from E.T.... It... Goonies..."

A really well done show, but it didn't live up to the hype for us. We'll be back for Season 2.
