Mel Gibson is a damn national treasure. Seems like everything he does in a film making capacity is exceptional. It pisses me off that we lost so many years of his talent because of Hollywoods hypocrisy. I'm not defending the things he did or said, but he was blackballed and Alec Baldwin seemed to suffer little if any repercussions from his outburst with his minor daughter.

Mel and Clint Eastwood are probably my two favorite people in Hollyweird.

I went see it this weekend and was overwhelmed by the brutality of the movie. It was hard to enjoy because it was so intense and brutal.
This is not a slight, but an observation. I suspect this is how war is and this is how it has to be portrayed?
I'm fascinated by how a producer can set up some of the shots that were filmed in this movie. The preparation and vision to set up those shots is amazing.

You sure have a weird equivalency working here.

ETA: plus there is so much shite wrong in your post that Idk where to begin. Is he Australia's national treasure or ours?

You may be correct. I have a unhealthy disdain for Alec.

If a pussy is someone who throws himself in harms way to save 75 soldiers then yes he was a big pussy.

I don't know the story. All I saw was Peter Parker say I don't hold guns.

Gibson's no stranger to blood and gore. This was on par with Braveheart, Passion of the Christ, Apocalypto, and The Patriot.

Me personally, I thought it was a damn fine movie. My only qualms with the movie was I didn't like the slow motion stuff. I also wish it would've been first person in some of the major action parts, like SPR.

Yep. That's the gist. Obviously nothing more to see here.

Yep...he didn't move to Australia until he was 12. So the Australian accent is actually one he picked up along the way.
